Mrs R just made this for dinner:
Chicken breast stuffed with honey-baked ham, pepperoni, Kalamata olives, and smoked Cheddar, topped with sour cream and sliced avocadoes, with a side of scalloped taters and French-cut green beans.

It was every bit as good as it sounds and then some.

Jealous yet?

(Anyone wants to stop by, she said she'll make some for you as well.)

8. Some day, when you'reout this way...
Cooking is Mrs R's second-favorite activity, and she'd be only too happy to make that or one of her other terrific concoctions for you.

(This is why I weigh 30 pounds more than I did when I met her. I used to think of eating dinner as just something that you had to do in order to keep from being hungry, but now I look forward to it every night.)

9. Now, my dear Redstone, that would be lovely.....
If I ever get east.....I'll let you know!

I did notice you said "second-favorite activity." I can just imagine what her first one is!

If it's not one appetite, it's another.......;-)

10. You betcha. Hot-blooded tropical women, and all that...
it's not just a myth.

And you wonder why I'm tired all the time? (Heh,heh.)

But if you do ever take a trip out here, you'd better take some time for a visit, or have a damned good reason why not. We have a big house, we really like having visitors, and there's no end of stuff to do and see around here. As you know, it's great to live in a place that other people go to for a vacation.

Your house looks marvelous, and I'd love to meet you and Mrs. R and your son too.....

And, BTW, the same applies to you and your family!

:woohoo:

2. Mrs. WCGreen made watery pasta and forgot the cheese.....
Sometimes I think she pretends to fuck up everything she touches in the kitchen just so I will cook all the time....

3. I'm not allowed to eat that.
I can have the chicken (minus skin, as long as it's not cooked with any oil.) And I can have the avacado and green beans,

Sigh.

Glad you enjoyed it. Sounds awesome.

Come on by if you feel like cutting loose.

6. Well, there really isn't a recipe. She just worked it up on the fly.
But I'll try to get the cooking details from her and PM them to you tomorrow. OK?

16. Man, I live on dorm food.
Speaking of things that are not fair in this world.

(although, to be just to UIUC's dining services, it was Mexican night, so I did have two rather large burritos)

17. back when I was a kid, perhaps nine, perhaps seven
my mom made something that I really did not want to eat. My dad told me "you are going to sit there until you eat it". About an hour later, he came back in the kitchen and I was sitting there, hadn't eaten anything, and was not about to. Who knows, I was probably making up stories or doing math problems in my head, not the slightest bit distressed, willing and able to sit there all night if that was what it took. Fortunately my dad was pretty easy going so there was neither a beating nor a major harangue, but he was not happy about losing. He said something like "just get out of here".

Your menu, rather than making me jealous, strikes me as something that I would, once again, stubbornly sit all night in order to avoid eating it.

But to each their own. Glad you enjoyed it.

21. We're pretty much always home, so stop by anytime. But Ihave to warn you,
the Little Guy will nag you to death until he gets a rid on the trike.

(I won't let him on a motorcycle, but the trike would be OK.)

We're going to try to have a DU get-together next summer. We have the perfect place for it.

20. Redstone consider yourself
a lucky man.
I'm trying out a new recipe this weekend that I got off of Epicurious. It's Pork Fricassee w/mushrooms and carrots. A colleague just had twins so we're all taking turns cooking for the new parents. They are both exhausted, poor dears. But I have selfish motives for doing this because when I go over and deliver the food, I get to hold the babies!
