I am making some tea.

But more seriously, I do not know what color my parachute is, and I turned 29 a bit ago. Meanwhile, Britney Stinkin Spears has already made her fortune and she's way younger than I am.

So rather than asking for career test links (you can give me those too LOL), just wondering what other people feel their purpose is....when they discovered it... whether they feel there's more they should be doing...

My problem may just be megalomania. :scared:

1. I think....
....I was put here just mainly to exist.

3. And that's enough for you?
Just existing?

(As I said, I think I may suffer from megalomania. You only encourage me when you say you're content just being alive.)

You're having a good time then?

You don't feel you should be a master...um....whatever you are?

ARE you a master whatever you are?

Sigh.

7. No, no no.
I believe the shadow is bored.

A jack-of-all-trades, master of none, as the saying goes. I just kind of take things one day at a time. So very cliche, yes, but after the breakdown and fall apart stage of my life, it's just easier to take it a little at a time right now.

It's happier this way too.

I plan on making it back to school, it's just deciding what will hold my interest longer - art history or library.

Anything you've mastered in your time here with humanity?

10. No, and that's what causing my freakout.
I've mastered being poor...but not even poor enough that it'd make a good story.

I'm okay at a lot of things...but I feel like, whatever I'm supposed to be doing, I'm not doing it. And I'd like to get to it, since in Hollywood years my life is half over.

Besides the megalomania, I may want to rethink my film industy obsession, LOL.

22. No, no! Hobbies are a good thing!
Film industry obession never goes outta style. Besides, it's way more interesting than what's going on in my neighborhood.

I know, I think that way...a LOT. I'm not doing what I feel I should be doing either. The frustration that comes with knowing that gets to be a load as well.

Well, at least I'm not alone being aimless! Hey, when fame calls, drop me a PM!

You don't want anything more than that?

I think that's a good answer. A mature one.

25. Nobody's ever accused me
of committing maturity. Thanks. :7

I may want more than that, sure — human foibles 'n' all. But if I can look back on this existence and honestly say I learned well, and that someone benefitted from something I learned, I'll be essentially happy.

21. I photograph, therefore I am.
I'm using the modern form of photograph (in Italian) with the latin 'I' reflexive, though, in hopes that the word hasn't changed too much.

9. Britney?
She may have made a lot of money but it's clear she doesn't have a clue what she should be doing with her life. She's getting a rude awakening -- her mother broke up her marriage to a childhood friend; her new husband is not interested in being a father or a good husband. Whether she actually wakes up from her sleepwalking state is another question.
At least you know to ask the question.
Frankly, I don't think there is one thing we are put here to do. We usually have a series of lessons to learn. What might be right for now is outgrown later. Just keep your eyes, ears, and heart open to learn the lessons.

15. She was a bad example, LOL.
Though she's making her living and there's one thing she knows she's good at, that she can go out into the world with. Everyone has problems, obviously, and if I had made my fortune or whatever, I could be miserable.

But you know how some people go "I knew at 4 I was supposed to be an actor" or "I couldn't do anything else but design video games"...or whatever?

Why don't *I* know anything? :nopity:

Thanks for the hug!

24. Ahh, but did they really know?
Edited on Sun Dec-04-05 06:50 PM by in search of sanity
When someone "knows" at a very young age what they wanted to do, I have to wonder whether they are following their parents' dream, not their heart's desire.
When someone becomes so focused on one career or life path early on, he/she can become very ignorant of everything else life has to offer.
Off the top of my head, I'm thinking of Michael Jackson. He probably really wanted to sing and dance as a kid. I'm sure he enjoyed the accolades from the audience. One could clearly see that he was put here to make use of that talent in some way. But because he focused so early on, he's an incredibly ignorant person lacking any insight into himself. He's turned out to live a very sad life.
Britney Spears may turn out to be a similar story, although not quite as tragic. She is clueless in so many ways. Had she not been so focused on entertainment in her formative years, she may have turned out more well rounded.
Be glad that you were not so single-minded.

18. I'm here to experience beauty.
I worked in cardiology. Then I became a roofing contractor. Then a degree in mechanical engineering. Puke on it all. I quit and moved into a tiny shack in the mountains. And that's all I've done for the last ten years. Looking at trees and birds and insects. Mind you I've had to sell my place and move on to the next one, to get income. So it's been disruptive. But I made a hell of a lot more money just doing what I wanted, following my heart, than I did doing anything else.

Do what you love. Although that isn't always obvious.

Roofing was the most fun job I ever had. Hard, dirty, and a ball.

It is a little distressing, but at least I should be able to make a living and support myself until I figure it out.
