What is your favorite candle scent?
Yesterday, I bought some homemade candles from a woman who lives nearby. On a whim, I bought "Spun Sugar" candles, which smell just like cotton candy.

They have a DELICIOUS scent. I had always loved Gardenia or Cinnamon candles. But now I have a new favorite.

What's your favorite candle scent? Do you buy your candles in a shop or from someone who makes them at home? Even better, do you make your own?

15. I read once that Lavender is the top fragrance to men.
I don't know how the conclusion was reached, but I recall reading that men favor Lavender over other candle scents.

My grandmother wore lavender lotion. I can still "smell" it in my memory. It is a relaxing scent.

Yes it's a very relaxing scent. I've known people to use it in their bedroom to help induce a peaceful slumber.

5. Sorry to be a party-pooper, but I can't stand scented candles.
Or "air fresheners." (If you want the air in your house "freshened," why not just open the damn windows?)

Or the perfume department in a store.

Or, especially, trying to read a magazine that has some perfume "scratch and sniff" thing in it.

I like the scent of Mrs R's cooking in the house, but that's about it. She has to burn the smell-o-candles when I'm somewhere else.

14. I don't like air fresheners...but I love candles as much for the glow as
for the scent.

And I agree with you. I open the windows for fresh air, and nothing smells better than cornbread or a roast cooking in the kitchen. :)

29. I love scented candles
My SO and I light candles in our living room every night - we keep 6 of the big fat ones in there. I love the soft light and the gentle scent.

We always get a variety of scents - I'm not sure what my favorite might be. Nothing too strong, mostly light berries and jasmines and stuff. I also love incense - we get some nice stuff (don't know what scent it is) from a Hindu temple.

32. None. IMO, most of them stink.
Expecially the fruity or vanilla-ish ones; they're just cloying. Some stores, like Pier 1 Imports, stink so bad of sickly-sweet scented candles that I just about gag if I have to spend too much time there. Some pine scents are OK in small doses, but the others...
