(This strikes right to the heart of this "they're taking Christ out of Christmas" debate.)

3. Can't answer that. I think Hank has always been in it for the money...
and he gets that money from saying whatever his fans want him to say.

However, I think the lyrics to "The American Dream" are fitting, given this current controversy over the Christmas thing.

6. Hank Jr is another fascist asshat
His liner notes to his collection "America: The Way I See It", his lyrics to the song "Don't Give Us A Reason"... which advocated going beyond Operation Desert Storm, when he wrote it in 1990. This current war is his wet dream.

His speaking at the 2000 GOP Convention, where he greeted them by saying "Hello, all my rowdy Republican friends!"

I could go on, but :puke:

4. Yeah, I agree, M.
I love Hank Sr.'s music. And I love some of Hank Jr.'s music. Back when he began, in the late 70s/early 80s, his music was quite good.

But then he took a right turn in some of his music, and I quit listening to him.

Still, I love "The American Dream."
