12. To Kill a Mockingbird is circular: the story begins where it ends.
But here's the beginning anyway:

"When he was nearly thirteen, my brother Jem got his arm badly broken at the elbow..."

;)

18. AMC doesn't show many classics anymore.
Edited on Wed Dec-07-05 07:19 AM by pinniped
They went with commercials a few years ago and have been sputtering since.

Since when is Tremors I & II a classic?

Since when does Steven Seagal do classic movies?

And one of their programming nuts is a slasher movie freak.

Oh ya, there were 60 brazillion commercials.

5. It is my favorite book of all time.
I read it in the fourth grade and did a book report on it - have read it at least once a year ever since. My family got Harper Lee to autograph a vintage copy of it as my Christmas present a few years ago!

:hi:

10. Have you ever seen "To Kill a Mockingbird"?
The Omen is a good film, but if you haven't seen TKM, I highly recommend it, especially to progressive thinkers. Harper Lee's novel - her ONLY novel - was ground-breaking in its simple honesty and clear message about racial inequality.

:hi: you!

11. Boo, an intelligent child ruined by a cruel father...
is one of the book’s most important mockingbirds; he is also an important symbol of the good that exists within people. Despite the pain that Boo has suffered, the purity of his heart rules his interaction with the children. In saving Jem and Scout from Bob Ewell, Boo proves the ultimate symbol of good
