I have the Waterford crystal cross I purchased for my mom when I was in Ireland in 2001. She has since past away and I took the cross back, it looks great, catches the sunlight and sends rainbows all over the place hope she doesn't miss it.

16. a small cross made from dental floss.
Given to me by someone who was on trial for murder. First trial, a hung jury - second trial, no guilty. This was in NC, and the poor guy most certainly would have faced the death penalty.

He got it from one of the inmates at the NC prison in Raleigh, and sent it to me, in thanks for prayers and pastoral care (my best friend was his pastor at the time).
It's a constant reminder to me to never take life for granted.

Also, a green and gold strand of Mardi Gras beads, with crosses on each. It didn't help the Packers much, but it is pretty.

28. I have an amulet given me by a stranger in Hungary.
It's a clay replica of a stone age Sibirian find - one side shows the side of a man, probably some kind of shaman, and the other the head of a horse. We asked the guy for directions to the state stud at Szilvasvarad; he said he'd tell us by a glass of wine in his house (his way of getting customers for his wife's little hotel, but we always sleep in the car when on vacation) and when we finally left after three glasses of wine he gave me the amulet - saying it was just right for a horse person like me and would always protect me. So I just had to put it in the car because he was so nice... the idea of a talisman frankly would never have occured to me otherwise :)
