Okay, he was cute as a button, we all know that. But I've never heard of this sort of naming besides THE John-John.

Anyone know another name that got this treatment?

Rick-Rick
Dave-Dave
Bill-Bill
Lance-Lance
Cheryl-Chery

I mean there was Toni Tony Tone, but that was kind of different.

3. Here's some info on that:
The White House also seemed like a more fun, youthful place, because of the Kennedys' two young children, Caroline and John Jr. (who came to be known in the popular press as "John-John" though years later Jacqueline Kennedy denied that the family called him by that name). Outside the White House Lawn, the Kennedys established a pre-school, swimming pool, and tree house.

As an infant, Kennedy was known as "John-John" -- a nickname mistakenly given to him by a reporter who misheard a conversation.

I had always heard that the Kennedys never referred to him as John-John, which really would have been kinda weird.

8. I used to be called John-John
Most likely because I was born the same year JFK was killed and my parents and their friends were hard core democrats. It also helped that my dad & I were both named John so they were looking for a nick name for me anyway.

I never liked "John-John" or "Johnny" and by the time I was in fourth grade I started ignoring anyone who didn't call me John.
