and claim absolute knowledge of medicine, law enforcement, architecture, engineering, biochemistry...etc.

I agree, such people are... well, it seems they're rather lacking in social skills, or self-esteem, or both. I've never understood using the anonymity of the internets to pretend to be something one isn't.

10. I think sometimes people are just trying to help.
If someone is a doctor, or an attorney, or whatever and sees something posted that is pertinent to their occupations, they just want to share some information.

But, then again, it is impossible to know if people are telling the truth.
