What crazy things have happened to you?
Edited on Thu Dec-08-05 01:47 PM by Shell Beau
I had a crazy year back in 1998 when I was only 19 and living with 3 of my best friends! As you can imagine, we lived it up, but as I got to thinking about that year, some crazy shit happened.

1) One of my friends decided to bring a rap group she met at school over to our house. They were cool and fun to hang with that night. Well, a week or so later, one of the guys calls me at work. I have no idea how he knew where I worked as I never told him. He asked me to go to Atlanta with them to promote their album. I said no b/c I didn't really know them and I was in school. A week later on the news, lo and behold, I see that guy on the news. For murdering his girlfriend and her father. :o Glad I didn't go!!

2) We were riding around one night. Drinking and having fun when we came upon this car on a back road. A girl's arm was hanging out of the back door and we heard screaming. We called 911 and told them something weird was going on. Next thing we know, this girl jumps out of the car naked and starts running to our car. She jumps in, the guy in her car takes off. Wrecks her car and takes off running in the field. Well, she was being raped. We rushed her to the hospital and got pulled over in the process. I guess we helped save her!! :o

3) My mom begged me to go out with this new lawyer guy she knew from work (she is a court reporter). He was young and cute and as much as I HATE to be fixed up, I agreed so she would leave me alone. He was okay, nothing there. Nice guy though. A week later, he blew his brains out. Not b/c of me, he apparently had some issues with another girl, but still. :o

Boy was that a year, but besides all of that, it was the one of the best years of my life.

Do you have any crazy stories from your life?

1. wow. apparently, nothing all too crazy has ever happened to me
I mean, I've gotten drunk and done stupid stuff too many times to count...but any one of those three stories beats anything I've got. I've seen some weird things...but, well, nevermind -- even that story isn't as crazy as any of yours.

2. I was thinking about it today for some reason, and I
couldn't believe all of that happened within the same year. I never put that together! It was adventurous for sure!!

10. I think you live in a special place
I've certainly had my wild times, but there has been no proximity to fatal occurrences, other than the aftermath of car accidents.

I think you have some good material for some new Delta blues songs, Shell Beau.

11. Once I was in Galesburg, Illinois in the middle of winter....
It was about midnight, and I was walking through the parking lot of a motel I were I was staying. The ground was covered in snow and the wind was blowing and I looked down and saw a plastic bag lying there.

It was filled with about 20 Thai sticks. In the middle of winter. In Galesburg. How fortuitous.
