A tale of amazing resilience.
I want to share with you my story about my cat Crystal.

Crystal came to me several years ago, a stray and pregnant. At the time I had a roommate who was anti-cat, so Crystal stayed in the garage. She would get out and pounce around the neighborhood but would always come back.

Her first litter came and went, one day I realized she just wasn't pregnant anymore.... I wondered where her litter went... a few weeks later, I found out. A neighbor across the street found 3 dead kittens in her yard. Shortly there after Crystal got pregnant again. This time, I tossed my roommate and welcomed her into my home. I placed all of her kittens in homes and vowed to never let her get pregnant again. She was fixed right after that.

Fast forward... yesterday, as temperatures were slowly going down and ice and freezing rain on the way, I came home only to realize that Crystal had gone out the doggie door. She usually just sticks around in the front yard or in the back, but last night she never came back. The temps getting lower, the sleet coming down heavily.... I flipped! I got in my car and went and looked all over the neighborhood. Came home went and walked the streets with a flashlight to no avail.

I tried to sleep, but I couldn't, I kept thinking my poor baby was out there somewhere cold as hell and couldn't get home... or maybe she was dead... THis early morning, I continued my search. Nothing.

I came home from work.... just hoping... just hoping I would see her...and guess what? There she was standing at the front door meowing and pretty much bitching that she was hungry!!! I picked her up and squeezed her! She smells pretty bad, she must have found a safe place to go.

I am simply amazed that she survived last night. Right now she is all curled up on her favorite blanky, resting after eating a whole bowl of cat food!

I'm happy now!
