1. I saw it this past weekend
Loved it! I swear, Joaquin Phoenix was channeling Johnny Cash. Reese Witherspoon is good as June, too.

5. Good choice!
Joaquin Phoenix makes an unbelievably realistic Johnny Cash. Reese Witherspoon was pretty good as June Carter, too.

6. My beautiful daughter who NEVER listened to Johnny Cash
thought it was great, and that BOTH Reese and Joaquin deserve Academy Awards.

9. I was blown away
by both Phoenix and Witherspoon's performances. What both can convey with just a simple look, is just...well, very impressive, to say the least. And the chemistry between the two of them really is palpable. Both deserve awards for their work in this film, IMO. And the actor who played Cash's father was excellent as well...I hope he gets nominated for something, too.

It's not a perfect movie, but the performances definitely outshine any of its flaws.

I was very excited to see this film (and I haven't been excited enough to see a film in the theater in a looong time) and it certainly did not disappoint.

Go see it!! :-)
