Picks me up from the airport instead of saying "take a cab"

Just a weary traveler venting...nothing to see here folks! :hi:

44. I do it, almost all the time.
Now that we have a child, I don't provide taxi service at extremely late or early hours because it makes the munchkin too cranky, but other than that, I always drive my husband to and from the airport. On the other hand, I used to have an officemate who couldn't understand why I'd do such a thing, and enjoy doing it. Takes all kinds, I guess.

4. Of *course* you should be picked up from the airport. What kind of girl
is this?

Unless you're arriving late and she has small children/she's sick in the hospital/her right foot is broken/she has a boss from hell....why isn't she picking you up?

Seems to be common courtesy, not even a googly eyed thing to do. I'd pick up any friend from the airport if I could.

I'm all the way south. The beach in the winter is nice...I think.

I haven't gone yet, LOL!!

I used to live near the Sopranos, kind of. I miss it actually.

11. That's what I'm saying.
I'd NEVER let a girlfriend of mine cab it from the airport unless that was her choice. Even if it WERE her choice, I wouldn't be happy about it. Dammit. ;)

12. A guy I went out with once had a litmus test ...
Edited on Thu Dec-08-05 09:51 PM by Misunderestimator
When he unlocked and opened the passenger door of his car for a woman, if she then reached across to unlock the driver's door as he walked around... he knew she was a keeper. Of course... I failed the heterosexuality test... so it was all moot that I passed that one.

On edit... dayam... she can't drive to the airport?

It's not even a gender thing, it's a common courtesy thing. I wouldn't ever ask anyone - friend, relative, business contact, anyone - to find their way to me from an airport. And if it was a guy I wanted to marry me... holy cow, you can bet I'd be waiting for him at the gate. With bells on!

Sorry for your diasppointment. Can I call you a cab?

My girlfriend's husband travels almost every week for business - she doesn't take him to the airport or pick him up. She had 3 young children to look after, and he gets to expense his cab fair.

Edited on Fri Dec-09-05 04:23 PM by WakeMeUp
I really do! It is fun to watch people traveling to so many different places and seeing the look on the face of the person when they first see you. Call me crazy, but that is always something I would do!

Hope you had a good trip! :hi:

Edit to add that even though I like doing this, unfortunately I am already married. But it is a nice offer :)
