1. Oh man, I hate when that happens.
I can't function if I haven't had a shower...seriously, I just sit in bed all day, wishing my hair wasn't so greasy.

Sorry proud2Blib!

4. I am not going anywhere
so I don't care.

This also means I shouldn't work up a sweat doing housework. So life is good.

I guess if that happened to me, I'd have to get up an hour and a half early and go to my sister's house to shower.

Bummer.

I could go kick his ass and make him fix it but I don't care tonight. No school tomorrow. Got heat. Got food. Shower can wait.

But thanks for the offer.

12. Talk about stinky...
In order to save money I lived in my father's camp all summer and into Oct. My daughter was 2. We had electricity but only cold water (by a hand pump) The only heat was by a woodstove and that is what I cooked on too. In order to give my daughter baths and to wash my lenghty hair, I had to heat the water on the woodstove. We had an indoor "potty pot" but I taught my daughter how to pee outside and of course, use the outhouse if necessary. Unfortunately she didn't understand that there is a time and place for these things.

My point?... things could be worse. :-)

19. I have a hot water heater fresh out of the box, it ain't even
dusty yet. You know where I am if you need to get un-stank. When ours shot craps recently, it was a sad day. And it got sadder and sadder until the house was filled with sad smells.

Let me know.

24. Don't you hate spending a bundle of money on something
that doesn't even show? Rose bushes, no; water heater, yes. Paint, no; flood protection, yes. Carpet, no; scary basement shelving, yes. "Do you wanna come and see the new water heater? How abouts let us admire the sump pump, we can dump water in it and see it work!

Manicure, no; Pap smear, yes. It stinks.

So have you all conjured a way to get clean? My offer stands.

No school Thursday nor Friday. I have not made good use of my time off! You?

25. I showered at my mom's this morning but thanks so much
No of course I haven't made good use of my time off. But I have a great excuse. NO HOT WATER. How in the world can I do dishes or work up a sweat doing housework? And laundry - forget it. I will take it over to my mom's tomorrow if I have to. (And remember, I LOVE to shop, so I have plenty of clothes.)

I am thinking of going to Californo's for a meeting on voting machines this afternoon with evlbstrd. If you want to go, PM me. I need your phone number anyway so PM it to me. I wanted to invite you to go out with us last weekend and didn't know how to get ahold of you. But we were thinking about you. Were your ears burning? :hi:

21. So whats the problem? Don't need a shower to bathe!
Sounds like you have plenty of water. I am guessing you also have a stove?
So there is plenty of warm water available. Put your head in the sink and hold a dish pan of water over it to rinse/wash your hair. A face cloth and a basin of water. What else would you need?

p.s. Having parents who grew up without indoor plumbing has it's advantages. But not taking a shower cause there is no hot water is not one of them.
