F******* BUS DROVE RIGHT PAST ME!!!!
Edited on Fri Dec-09-05 10:24 AM by MiniMandaRuth

And she started to stop about twenty feet AFTER my stop, and THEN SHE KEPT GOING!!!

ARGH!!!

:grr: :grr: :grr: :grr:

It was only me there, so I kept running and swearing and probably woke up half the neighborhood.

It's going to be a fun day today.

:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

On edit: I had a big backpack and a saxophone, so that's why I didn't keep running.

thought "ey she looks like she should use her legs a little more... let's ease her decision to take a walk"

I wore my Lennon shirt today.

6. So what did you do? Did you catch the next one?
I think most of us have trouble relating to this since we drive our own cars....

I haven't ridden any bus in more than forty years!

7. It was a school bus.
I got my dad to drive me.

We were both incredibly angry after that.

9. Maybe you and I live in the same city.

Yesterday the same thing happened to me - the driver drove past my stop and wouldn't let me on.

Then today my bus didn't even f***ing come at all. Me and 3 other passengers, including one elderly man, stood out in the 5 degree temps and snow for an hour before the next one came along, late. I complained to the bus driver and he didn't care at all. Probably because he gets to sit on his ass in his nice warm bus while we all get hypothermia at the stop.

I called the transit authority when I got home. They didn't care either. This is the 4th time I've called them in a week because the bus is often 20-30 minutes late. I've just about had it up to here with the bus thing. It's insane. It's like I live in a 3rd world country or something. Except people in 3rd world countries generally don't have to wait for their f***ing buses in below freezing wind chills and 6 inches of snow.

ON EDIT: I just realized you were talking about a school bus. But I guess it's just as irritating no matter what kind of bus it is, so I can commiserate!

10. Oh, poor chick! I so commiserate!
When I was in first grade, the bus was more than an hour late in the second week of December... in Indiana. My mom could see the stop from the kitchen window, and there were a couple of bigger kids who looked after me, so she went to feed my sister (6 months old) after she got me out the door, and never thought to look for me again.

An hour later, I came back up to home and scared her to death. She'd just gotten me warmed up when the bus came and I ran for it.

Ended up making my nice little winter cold into pneumonia that took hospitalization out of that little adventure.

Make sure you and your parents both complain to your district's transportation manager. Yes, you're a big strong kid, but it could have been a little one.

12. Plus, I was the only one out there.
What if I was a little kid, like you, and I was alone and unsupervised? There's a big highway right across the street. I might of thought it would be a good idea to hitch a ride or something... Not that i"m that stupid.

13. There's your point: Sing it to the transportation manager!
Don't know about your district, but mine has the drivers do three separate runs - the high school run is at about 6:30-7:10, the middle school run is 7:30 to 8:10, and the elementary school run is 8:30-9:10. (Afternoons reverse that.) So a driver that misses a high school kid is also likely to miss a middle school kid or an elementary kid later in the day.

11. Buses are so incredibly undependable!
IMO that's the main reason most people don't like to use public transportation. They're undependable and no one cares.

14. I knew someone in High School...
who wore military pants. In the ammo pockets he carried golf balls and when the bus failed to stop, he would hit it with a golf ball. I think he dropped out... Not that this helps you at all...

I think I'll just go to sleep now...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

15. Do I have the facts right?
You are a school age kid who got passed up by your bus, then had to lug your books and band instrument somewhere to get a ride to school? What the heck is wrong with this scenario?

17. It's wrong because...
I was friggin' cold, I was stressed from my concert that night, I hadn't studied for a test, and I made my dad late.

16. That sucks.
I think you should give the driver a Christmas present, like some homemade chocolate chip cookies (note, broken up ex-lax may be substituted for chocolate chips in this instance).
