Would you think this was odd if it happened to you?
Edited on Fri Dec-09-05 05:26 PM by OhioBlues
Today I got onto the elevator on the 3rd floor with a single lady, a man and his wife and their little girl. I pressed the button for the employee garage, he pushed the 1st floor. When we got to the first floor a man who looked rather unruly got on and the single lady stepped off. The family man held the door open and told the lady and little girl, you need to get off here. The lady and little girl stepped off and he stayed. The scary man pressed the doctors garage floor (he was definitely NOT a doctor and wasn't wearing a hospital badge) which was right before my stop.

The scary guy got off at the next floor and the man rode with me to my floor but didn't get off, he held the door for me and I left. The odd thing was he never pressed another floor so I have to clue what that was about.

edited to say a public thanks to the kind stranger.

3. That is exactly what I thought
It nearly made me cry because so few people silently without saying a word do such lovely and humane things for others, much less complete strangers.

6. That was very cool of him
I agree with the rest on here. It's hard these days to do things like that without the possibility that you might be considered sexist, but it was cool that he did what he did.

11. Define "scary guy"
I look pretty scary (especially these days when I'm growing a beard), but I'm fairly harmless.

13. Heavy overcoat
Edited on Fri Dec-09-05 05:41 PM by OhioBlues
hat tilted over his eyes, sort of looked out of the corner of his shifty eyes, wouldn't make eye contact and made me shiver when he got on. No beard!

edit spelling error

And it sounds like the sort of thing my SO would do which is one of the many reasons I adore him. Nice story.
