Is anybody tired of this Christmas/Holiday so-called controversy?
Edited on Sun Dec-11-05 03:10 PM by Cascadian
Okay, everybody. Just chill out! I really don't see what the big freaking deal is. You have Christmas which is a holiday and you have just the term "holiday". Christmas IS a holiday. No big deal. The idea of greeting "holiday" is to encompass all of the holidays that come around this time of year. The dumb neocon Christians assume that everybody must greet each other as Merry Christmas as if everybody celebrates it. We all know better right, DUers?

This is such a nonstarter controversy and I am sick of it. The neocons are just using this as a pet controversy to divert attention from their Bush Boy's lousy approval ratings.

So just relax. Have another handful of roasted chestnuts, some more rum and egg nog, and just ignore the idiots!

HAPPY FREAKING HOLIDAYS!

1. It's ridiculous...
But gives me a chance to shamelessly plug my website: http://subversive.trackiepro.com/2005/12/enough-with-this-war-on-christmas.html

5. It gives new meaning to the word "asinine"
It's supposed to be a joyous time. This whole "controversy" is a bunch of right wing bullshit. Forget them and the whole thing.

Just enjoy the holidays. Now is a time of spending happy times with family and friends.

And Happy Holidays to everyone. :-)

Terry

8. The modern day fundies are descended from the Puritans
They just don't like folk having fun basically - they enjoy complaining, butching and moaning.

Oh and it's worth mentioning that these very same Puritans (the spiritual fathers of the fundies, lest we forget) actually banned the celebration of Christmas when they controlled England during the Commonwealth. :eyes:

7. I'm bracing for next year's big "controversy": turkey or ham?
this is so silly, I can't believe anyone in their right mind would get upset over it.

9. Hell, I'm not even what I'd consider to be officially a Christian
or anything but I have no problem with Happy Holidays or Merry Christmas. I don't get the controversy either.

15. Yes, I'm weary of it. I'm a Christian, I celebrate Christmas every year.
But this hysteria of the so-called War on Christmas is just that: hysteria.
