This snow is going to be here until goddamn July
Snow advisory until 9pm--oh good!
Four more inches expected today, maybe two more overnight.
It's madness!

Just more snow on top of old dirty snow, like putting perfume over stinky clothes hoping nobody will notice.
You don't fool me, new snow. You'll be filthy too soon enough.
Then more new snow will come, and more, and more, until this place looks like goddamn Superman's Fortress of Solitude.

Only with more cans of Blatz laying around.

Argh! I hate winter so freakin' much! It's making me insane. Look. Up there. What you just read.
There's the proof.

1. Sorry, jane.

I know what you mean. I hate snow, too. But now I hate hurricanes more. It's nice and warm here, but we pay for it.

Wish I could send you some warm sunshine.

3. Yeah I'm with you on hating hurricanes. Scariest weather ever.
I just hate being cold and that nobody in my neighborhood seems to know what shovels and rock salt are.

Thank you for the good thoughts.

2. Ah, but the winter makes you really, REALLY
appreciate the spring, dunnit?

How's this for masochism? We're taking a vacation between Christmas an New Year's. Guess where we're going: Florida? Bahamas? Costa Rica?

No Not us. We're going to MONTREAL, That's where!

4. Oh it sure does.
People around here will walk around in shorts the second it hits 50, 55 degrees again. (Because apparently I'm not the only person driven insane by winter. I'm bundled up until it hits 60.)

Montreal?! It's a beautiful city, though certainly not my number one winter vacation destination. What made you want to go there in the middle of winter?

5. Mrs R's only relative in North America lives there. Can you imagine,
growing up on a tropical island and ending up living in MONTREAL? So the cousin is utterly miserable in the winter, and we're going to visit to cheer her up.

And I'll have poutine! That's worth the drive any day.

7. No, I can't. I don't know that I would leave the island. Ever.
Nice of you to go visit. Besides poutine, you could have fun enjoying hot buttered rum. That's one winter thing I like.

9. Well, the weather's nice there but there's nothing to do.
Unless you want to work in a hotel and be lorded over by rich tourists.

We sort of missed it, only about an inch here today. It's too damned cold and nothing is melting from last week

18. Just wait until February. We'll all be channeling Jack Nicholson.
You know. From The Shining.

Or I will anyway. (But without the violent axe wielding).

11. We've got the full winter storm warning here.
I'd better get out to the bank before the whole friggin' town shuts down.

But I don't mind - I like snuggling in. :)

the shovelling out----not so good!

17. Snuggling in is one of the good things.
Unfortunately, I have to work. (boo) So no snuggling for me until 9:30 tonight. And no all day snuggling until Sunday. (big boo!) But when Sunday finally gets here--lookout! Snuggling, galore. And if all goes well, I won't have to get out of my pajamas.

Stay warm and safe up there Rev. :hi:

13. Come to Drinking Liberally tonight!
I'm gonna be stupid and drive there! Yeah! :toast:

(OK, my drive is three miles. No biggie. The majority of people who will go will probably be walking-distance Bay Viewers. I bet our Waukesha host shows up, though.)

I'd love to but I work every freakin' Wednesday night.
Please consider me there in spirit every week though, because even though I like my job, I'd much rather be enjoying beer.

:toast:

Be careful on the roads. My friend just called from a cozy little spot in a ditch about an hour ago. (He's fine).

14. Where are you? My sister in south WI has a lot of snow.
Friends up north, not so much - at least, not on the ground. Don't know how it's snowing today there, but looks like a big storm over the state.

16. I'm in Milwaukee. I forget when the first big snow was, but it's still on
the ground. And new snow joins it constantly. Today it's been constant but not big flakes. More like an evil sleet-snow-tiny balls of hail mix. Good times.

19. I think I'd like Milwaukee except...
for the damn snow and cold. I used to live near there as a child. But now that I've grown up I can't take the cold anymore. At least not THAT kind of cold. It's not THAT kind of cold here in Colorado.

Otherwise, Milwaukee looks cute these days and the art museum is soooo cool.

21. See, now I'm freaked by Colorado weather.
So much snow there! I don't know how you get around without falling down constantly.

The art museum is great. The inside of that wing looks like something out of a sci-fi movie. It's so cool. And it seems to be the one thing everybody in the city (give or take) is proud of.

22. Don't tell anyone...
but most of the snow in CO is in the mountains. Here in Denver, it might snow big but then it all melts usually in less than a week. It's really not that bad. I lived in Chicago for grad school recently - NEVER AGAIN!!!

I think the whole downtown of Milwaukee is cute. And north of the downtown seemed cool with the university. I'm not that familiar with it so what the hell do I know. But if it weren't in WI, I'd consider moving there. But I refuse because of the weather.
