So, who's working over the holidays?
Lucky me gets to work Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Thankfully, I'll receive double-time on two of those days.

I shouldn't complain because they've really worked with me through such a trying year with so many health issues. And, as soon as we got back from Mexico, I missed more work because I got pneumonia.

It sucks, but I guess it beats not having a job. Who else will be working?

1. My niece the nurse will work Christmas Day....
But will be off Christmas Eve, so she will be able to come here for dinner.

Sorry about the sucky work hours...but the pay will be nice.

2. I know this will come as a great shock, but I am.
And with Christmas Eve on Saturday, I get to have two services on Saturday, and one on Sunday (thankfully, one church agreed to skip Sunday).

If I can get a sub for New Year's, I'm outta here; at least for a week.

12. Mom & Dad's is always special, even when it's mundane.
But sometime that week, my brother's family is coming out for a family Christmas.

I'm permitted at least 4 Sundays off a year, but I haven't been good at taking the time off. I need to get better at that.

3. holiday hours -
From a union household here I'm glad you will least receive double time. My husband has had to work several 'eves and day's' - still not sure the extra pay makes up for it. Due to his company's new forced overtime rule his Thanksgiving vacation flat out got cancelled and he ended up working 5 double shifts in a row. He tallied up his hours for 2005 & realized he had worked a year and a half - last year! Take care of yourself - and we will be here for you on Christmas Eve if you need to chat while at work - okay?

7. I'm working them over...
A sharp shopping uppercut to the holiday double chin, followed by a windmilling wrapping paper body shot to the bowl full of jelly!

Take that, you holidays!

9. I guess I am one of the fortunate people.
I always end up with unused vacation time at the end of the year. My company's policy is "use it or lose it." So I will be off today until Thursday, will work Thursday and then be off again until Dec. 28th. At least that gives me time to finish my gift shopping.

10. Work?
I hardly work when it's not over the Holidays. It's like getting angel's pay. You know, like working at Guitar Center or something. ;)

Don't mean to rub it in but, my office is closed from the 24th to the 3rd. I'll be puttering around the house in an eggnog induced haze for the better part of the break.

14. eggnog boy!
:hi:

have a nice holidaym, X!

I have to write some reports this week so I won't have to do them over the X-mas weekend... but no, no I don't. I set my own schedule and have no babysitter while the kid is off school til January.

But I have worked holidays in the past, so those who do have my respect and thanks.

11. I'm working the same days as you
Christmas day is voluntary but I'd just as soon work it. It will give me a chance to catch up on a lot of things since I doubt very much that we'll be that busy.

I really don't mind working holidays - I go in at 4 am so I'm off at 1 in the afternoon which gives me a large part of the day to enjoy. And I don't have any family in the area nor does my SO so it's just the two of us. I get paid well for it and someone who does have family can take the day off as a result.

15. Christmas Day.
And I'm not happy about it. Some new girl w/ less time in threw a fit and said that she had to have it off "for religious reasons". Now she's laughing about how the "Moms" have to work it and she gets to stay home w/ her hubby.
