Tonight for our work party, we got a limo and went to a swank
restaurant. Then off to a few clubs. Know what happened? I realized I'm too old for that shit. Not that I can't hang until late(early) and have fun, just that I realize I now truly despise "clubs." Honestly would have preferred to be sitting in a dive somewhere we could actually talk.

Other than that, had a blast.

PS - At 34.....I am the oldest person in my office. Big sigh........

2. Too old...
Last night I went to the Polyphonic Spree Christmas Concert and hung out in the pit and did a lot of bouncing up and down and dancing and spilling beer on people and had a BLAST. This morning, I appear to have sprained my ankle or something. I think I'm too old for this... at least, for sure, too old to be doing it without COMFORTABLE SHOES! :) (I'm 37).

7. Well, there's not a lot of moshing going on,
mostly bouncing up and down. But two people did stage dives last night. :) And at the end the band invited everyone up on the stage. I would say at least two thirds of the pit was on the stage at the end. I've never seen THAT before, that was fun.

10. Okay, when you're attending a concert that's more your style
and you hear a slowly increasing drilling sound, that's Cartman behind you, ridding the world of hippie festivals. You goddamn hippie. :D

14. Yes, it was paid for by the company. BUT, I'd rather have had the $200-
$250 per person! I just booked a flight to The Keys and that's roughly what I spent. Would love to have had the company pay for my flight.

13. It was so obnoxious. I really think that the only othe person in the club
that was even in his '30's was the manager. And quite frankly, he looked tired of it too.

I love going to some bars and seeing good bands, etc, but can't take that "club" scene.

17. I'm so happy it happened after I had been dropped off.
Best part is that at the next stop the girlfriend asked to use the bathroom and then proceeded to pass out on bathroom floor. She ended up spending the night. My co-worker called me around 1 PM today and said they were still asleep in her guest room and she wanted to know how to get them out of her house!

I'll be giving him some shit on Monday, but I think he's embarrassed enough - that girl was serious drama. One of those moments in his life when he will look back and really cringe.

18. Ah yes...I've had "drama girl" as my date before.
Dear God it sucks. No more of those for me, please.

Man, I haven't been that drunk in a long, LONG time. I dislike losing control like that.

19. The memory is punishment for a lifetime.
Who am I to make it worse?

But....I will of course. That's what friends are for - he must be periodically reminded. We travel together fairly often as a group, so everybody has some kind of a story eventually.

One of mine involves possibly playing the washboard with a band on a stage on Bourbon Street, just as a group of my clients happened by the big open windows and caught my performance. And there was a scene in Vegas one time, but I can't (won't) go into all those details!

20. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.
I think New Orleans has the same rule.

And, yeah, friends are required to give their friends crap when they do dumb-ass things.
