WoooHooo for kitchen gadgets :P
I just got two new kitchen toys. . . I got one of those Senseo/Pod coffee makers that makes a single cup of frothy coffee in like 30 seconds, and even better, I bought a FoodSaver vaccuum sealer :P

This thing is cool, now I can by bulk foods without being scared of wasting it.

Plus, and here's a little clue for you meat eaters out there, if you use the little vacuum hose attachment and one of the canisters for the little device, you can toss your meat and your marinade in one of the canisters, and do the vacuum seal bit, it'll suck the marinade straight into the meat. You can accomplish the same thing as an overnight marinade in about 5 minutes :P

WoooHoooo

1. fast, fresh, frothy
The commercials for those Senseos totally draw me in. I don't know if I can part with the stovetop espresso pot I've always had, though. :)

3. It comes out very similar to my little french-press single cup maker.
The machine was $49 at Costco, and if you buy before 12/18, you basically get an extra box of the coffee pouches for free (104 pouches I think it's normally $19.99, but if you buy the maker and the extra coffee, you get a $19.99 instant rebate).

2. The only thing
that's kept me from getting one of the vacuum sealers is the cost involved. I wouldn't use it quite enough for it to be cost-efficient. In the past, working in commercial kitchens, if I had something I needed done, i'd just use theirs. Let us know how that Senseo works (probably wouldn't be cost-eff, either, seeing as how I drink WAY too much coffee per day, but hey...)

yay for kitchen gadgetry

5. Well, the marinading tip I mentioned above was the biggest motivator
for buying the vacuum sealer. The rest is just useful, but not a WOW factor :P.

The coffee is very good. For me it may be more cost effective, since I typically only drink one or two cups, so making it by the pot was a waste, and using my french press was just too much trouble :P. But even it it's not more cost effective, it's tastier, so that's okay . . . I just need to see if I can figure a way to put my own choice of coffee blends in it somehow. . . maybe use regular filters and tie it into a bundle with cotton string or something . . . I'll have to experiment.

6. I have one of those, they're great, I think what I use it for most is
whipped cream :P. . . that thing makes whipping cream instantaneous and easy.
