1. And I forgot to say
My husband just about bit off his own tongue because he saw someone at the restaurant using chopsticks. (They do not use chopsticks in Thailand except when eating noodle soups.)

2. I miss Thai food
The one Thai restaurant here closed several months ago.

And that peanut sauce! I just love that stuff!

5. Does the Albertson's by you do the "Extreme bargain" suggestive
selling bullshit?

When we visited SoCal, I had to go to Albertson's for something, and the cashier had to mention some Extreme Bargain thing as I checked out. Certainly not the cashier's fault, but that shit pisses me off.

6. Not that I've noticed
But then, I don't go there that much. Those suckers never have enough checkstands open, and I hate waiting in line.

9. I never had thai
The closest i get is the buffette at the local japanesse - not chinnese - resturant. Is Thai anything like hunan?

10. It is spicy like hunan
but the overall flavor is different than hunan.

Coconut milk, lemongrass, Thai chilis, ginger, and peanut are recurring themes in Thai cooking. It is often a blend of sweet, savory, tangy and spicy.

17. It's a nice combo of Chinese and Indian (IMO).
Has more curry and Indian spices than Chinese.

I love it, but struggle ever since my trip to Thailand. While I was there I developed Acid Reflux and just can't enjoy it like I once did.

14. LOL
I would guess there are some common themes to the cuisines of both countries. Especially southern Thai!

16. We had
crabmeat rangoon,
mu shai (sp?) it was a steamed dumpling with a soy/ginger dipping sauce,
Basil/boar pork something,
Crispy orange duck and shrimp on noodles,
and steamed white rice.

I wonder how really authentic all the dishes really are at ethnic restaurants here.
