The Times Herald-Record received many online responses to the story in Wednesday's paper about a snow sculpture of a penis that a woman built on her boyfriend's lawn in New Windsor. Here is a sampling of your thoughts:

- I can't believe that the Record would even waste space with this story. It was incredibly offensive, and whoever decided to post the before picture right with the story online should be ashamed. I feel that it was very inappropriate and is only giving the girl who built it undeserved publicity. Whoever is in charge of the decision for what stories run and which pictures are posted, please think it through it if there is a next time. It's not funny, but downright offensive.

Young children would just see a snow sculpture and not even know what it was unless the adults around them made a big deal about it - oh wait, that is what happened. If a child was traumatized in any way, it was not by the person who built the sculpture, but by the adults around them who made such a big deal about it.

Many years ago someone in Silver Spring, MD did a really good snow penis in their yard right on one of the main roads. They even added evergreen branches for pubic hair. I was young then, it must have traumatized me and made me the sicko that I am today.
