Legwarmers- yes or no?

I'm semi-ashamed to admit I kind of like the idea of wearing them like this:

:hide: Go ahead. mock me...

7. Not outside, in the winter!!!
Although my legs do seem to have a sort of weather-repellant characteristic. I can wear a skirt outside and my jacket-covered arms will get shivery-cold, but my legs just get a little numb.

16. I tell the women in my church to go ahead and wear slacks in winter.
That's what I do, anyways.
Oh, and winter = NO SHAVING! :woohoo:

2. Thing is...Lara...you could pull them off...
Not everyone could. For example - the model in the pic. They look too much like she's forcing retro...

You on the other hand....could do it.

9. She does look like she's about 12 years old...
I like the fuzziness and the pink-ness (and admittedly the short-ness) of it, though. Maybe it's a sort of extension of my knee-boot fascination.

17. Oh just a bit...
In fact, I have a collection. They've been my "thing" since High School. I'm currently obsessing over some bronze metallic ones that I can't have, and it's k.i.l.l.i.n.g. me!

33. I'm seriously thinking about Canada, nowadays...
(for reasons obvious to anyone who frequents a political message board.) I could handle the climate and I *bet* they have legwarmers, knee boots, and jean skirts there!

29. My friends used to call my combat knee boots (my faves in h.s.)
Lara's "ass kickers." They were great at concerts; I could step on the feet of rude men who cut in front of me, and nobody could injure me below the knees!

8. Yes. I've got some on right now
Although I also have pants on over them.
I don't think I could bring myself to wear them so people could see them unless I was at dance class though.

Perhaps this is some kind of extension of your boot fetish.

10. If you like them, sure
I don't particularly like them so I wouldn't. But I refuse to be chained in what I wear or do by what so-called "fashion" dictates.

(I sure wouldn't wear the crotch-pinching garment that the model in blue is wearing - looks both stupid and uncomfortable. And since she has no ass to speak of, it looks like a little kid who forgot to put her pants on over her underwear)

28. I was at my professor's house the other night for a Christmas party
and there was this picture of her on the wall in her game room. It must have been taken in the early 80's when she was a dancer (or extra in Flashdance...lol). Well she was wearing the leg warmers and head band. I took great pleasure in singing the theme song from Flashdance every time she walked by. So moral of the story, never wear leg warmers unless you want to get mocked by a punk-ass like me 20 years from now.

40. I am going to the dance shop to get some: it is so damn cold
in my work station that my legs are numb from the knees down. I have not worked in an office this cold for years, and it is just my legs and feet that get cold. If it were just me, I would worry but everybody is cold.

So I figure a set of leg warmers in the desk drawer could be a good thing.
