They kept them in tubs where they would flail around....always wanted to buy one just to know how to cook a live eel....

11. I ate eel once w/o knowing it was eel.
At a Japanese restaurant around here the waiter wanted me to try sushi and he would pay for it. When I refused, he said he'd make sure it was cooked. I didn't order any particular kind. He brought it back and I tried it. After I ate it, he told me it was eel!! x(

9. They can get pretty big too
Years ago back in the '60s, the local dive shop had a Wolf eel which local divers had wrestled out from under the Narrows Bridge. It was over 23 feet long. I was a kid back then and that thing looked like an honest to God sea monster to me. The divers who caught that eel were quite proud of themselves....nowadays such hooliganism would come with a fine I expect. Who knows...that eel may have still been alive today.

14. Your photos are pretty...
...they brought back that old memory where I actually felt like those divers where some kind of heroes for tackling that monster. Most folks here felt the same way. My father was part of that dive group but only as an observer. The poor Wolf eel was eventually stuffed and mounted in the dive shop along the wall over the main counter. It has been over 40 years since I have even thought about this, then I was amazed at the bravery of those divers now I am amazed at how stupid we really were. The fact that our mindset has changed so much over that span of time gives me hope for life on this planet. That same line of thinking puts further strength to my arguments that bushco must go. Those guys are no friends to the creatures of our planet.

All this from those eel pics Shell Beau.... I believe those eels are smiling now.
