That's electrifying.

3. Explain?
I was once involved in a feasibility study of harvesting eels in South Carolina waters under the watchful eye of the University of South Carolina Extension Service.

I was slimed into writing a very short story; 'Eeling Is A Slippery Business.'

I stole the title from an article in the WSJ indirectly concerning me.

But oh it was fun!

5. I was just playing
with the title of someone else's thread, "Eels Are Eerie". Little did I know that eels (and lampreys!) can be found in the area. :hi:

6. Oh
Yes American eels and lamprey eels. Lamprey are ugly creatures with a horror story life style. It was the American eel I fished for.

7. I did a little web research on lampreys
and found this interesting article: http://www.wired.com/news/medtech/0,1286,66005,00.html?tw=wn_story_related

It's amazing to think that such a horrifying creature could be a source of hope for many people.

8. Interesting
Also the reference to King Henry (Eating Lamprey eels).
I read somewhere that they are GOOD to eat and that convincing people that such an ugly creature could be yummy would be very difficult sell-but if it could be done it might help control the eel population in the Great Lakes.
