Are your parents still married to each other??
Edited on Tue Dec-20-05 09:08 PM by RockaFowler
The reason I ask is that my parents have been divorced since I was 4, so that is all I know. Anyway, my whole life my mom and dad always talked bad about each other. Now, they like each other. I wish it was like that back in the 70's and they were still together. I don't know maybe I am getting melancholy because of the holidays

5. I wish they could have argued more
It was tough on my brother more because he was 10 years old and he didn't understand why they were no longer together

They unfortunately passed away several years ago. But they looked after each other always.

6. No, my parents are dead.
My father stayed married to my mother until she died. He married my stepmother and they stayed married until he died.

My stepmother says she's too old to marry a third time. (Her first husband died.) She's a young and quite beautiful 75 though, and she still has time to change her mind. No dates though.

I was a very lucky man in the parents department. None of my three parents ever said a bad word about one another.

8. 46 years and counting...
I don't think they've ever spent more than 3 days apart and that was only twice during the 70's. They're fiercely devoted to one another. :)

11. Nope, they conceived me, got married and 16 years
and two additional sons later, they split. Dad stuck around, assumed custody and kept us going, rare in the late 1970s.

Pretty amazing, and they really are perfect together.

My cousing sang Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer at their wedding!

Two sets of great-grandparents were married Dec. 24th, too.

I did NOT follow suit! :)

20. 55 years and they still hold hands
To be married that long, I have to marry a 20 year old man tomorrow, and I have to live to be 96.

My mother met my father when she was 12 years old (he was 15). They dated for 4 years before she became preggers, and they got married.

21. My parents have been married 57 years. Absolute devotion.
Among their 4 kids, though:

child #1 - married once, still married
child #2 - married 3 times, divorced 3 (probably 4 by now, LOL)
child #3 - married twice, divorced once
child #4 - married twice, divorced twice

Parents can set a good example of love and devotion, but sometimes it's just not in the cards for their children to have a lasting relationship with someone whom they can respect, love, and also have the hoochie-hots for over many many years.
