Got to tell you about the best purchase I ever made
Edited on Tue Dec-20-05 11:25 PM by WilliamPitt

The iJoy massage chair. Mine is black.

Hokey, I know. Bear with me.

I have just a bit of scoliosis in the center of my spine. This throws off my back muscles to the left and right. I also spend hours a day hunched over a computer. Most days, I go to bed with my back like a sheet of iron.

Last summer, I saved a good while and went searching for a sale on these chairs. Found one for a damned good price and bought it. It was 100% worth it. I could go to a massage therapist for 50-100 bucks a pop whenever I have the time...or I can sit in the chair. I sit in the chair.

Today, my back was a misery. I just sat in the chair for less than an hour, and things are sooooo much better.

My point: If you have a crappy back, and don't have time for massage therapy, get one of these things. If you save, you can afford it. I did, and I ain't rich. It has paid for itself (in what would have been trips to the massage therapist) many times over.

7. The chair is worth the money
and the money is not so savage if you save, and if you're spending it already on massage therapy.

Good luck with the birds.

9. Good for you, my dear Will!
If and when your back hurts, then nothing feels right.....

Can or do you sleep in it? Maybe it would be good for your insomnia....

Glad it's helping!

10. Thank you, darling
I have napped in it from time to time, and have had friends sleep in it after card games. It sleeps pretty good.

...and I'm glad you didn't tell me to go fuck myself... ;)

14. looks like a little slice of heaven
I've had killer back problems this whole week and that chair looks a lot more practical and comforting that the dumb vicodin, skelaxin, and prednisone I got. I'm happy that it helps you and is healthier than the crap I'm taking. Also the brand seems to be one that dr.laura and rush don't personally endorse like Ho-medics. I'll never buy any Ho-medics products cuz those two blabbermouths advertise for them.

17. That

or don't sit at the computer for so damn long. Actually, you've got far more justification for that than I do. It's an integral part of your job. I actually started using one of those exercise balls as my computer chair. Less back pain and better stomach muscles. It sounds heavenly though. Maybe I'll put it to committee. About how much would I be shelling out?

Edited to say: I could damn well have read the rest of the thread before asking details, eh? :)
