3. YAY! A question!
My mother LOVES Rank and File. She chose her name and when I became a member of DU, I used Mini. I had gone by Mini under her profile as well.

I do like Rank and File a lot, and i think that that's one of their best songs.

9. enigmatic sometimes plays songs by their newer incarnation
on his site www.radioenigma.com.

"Cowboy Nation" is what they're called. The stuff I've heard him play so far is really good.

Maybe AmandaRuth already knows about them.

I guess that's another question!

5. I dunno.
Must be some weird DU thing there...

It's kinda like a band geek thing. You say something like oboe and every one thinks 'HARD INSTRUMENT' I guess some one just said something and it kinda went form there...

I've always wondered that myself. Mother and i had a discussion on that.

Of course my father was a right wing Nixon supporter. We fought very bitterly about politics.

He is gone more than 10 years.

I loved him very much though and I miss him. It is well to love your father.

By the way, I agree with you and not your father.

55. He got me a broken candy cane,
and before you say 'That doesn't sound like he put a lot of thought into it' let me tell you the story.

When I gave him his present at lunch, he took a big candy cane out of his backpack and held it out. When I reached for it, he suddenly snapped it in half. When I gave him a little O.o look, he explained it and said this to me:

"This candy cane is like you, funny, different, and it doesn't care what other candy canes say about it. That's why you're special. You're like a candy cane. Sweet and comforting. You've always been there."

And then I said, in usual smart ass fashion:

"So if I'm like a candy cane, does that mean I taste like peppermint?"

Stoopid me didn't even realize what I said until he was nearly rolling around on the ground laughing.

56. Again, I have no distinct favorite.
I love the smell of pine needles and roses in the rain. I really can't explain it to you.

I also love the smell of Seattle. That salty smell mixed with oil and gas and foods from all the restaurants. I also love the smell of the Pike Place Market. No matter where you go, you can still smell the incense.

Right now, lavender, roses, jasmine, and lilac are my four 'real' scents that I love.

For perfumes, I like Givenchy, Miami Glow, and Be Delicious.

57. Uh... book?
I have so many...

For books I myself have written (Or am in the process of writing), my two favorites are Verinon and Crimson Shadows. Those two because they both deal with issues that would really piss some fundies off.

For books that I read yearly, that's easy. Lord of the Rings and Watership Down.

For magna books, that's easy as well. Descendants of Darkness, Gravitation, and Peach Girl.

For books in a series that are just wonderful, Cirque do Freak.

91. I was born in Seattle to two loving parents, whom had been married four
years before hand. I lived in Seattle for the first half of my life, then I moved to hicktown. I enjoy reading, writing, annoying people, being a know-it-all, and playing and learning saxophone and piano. I hope to take up guitar soon.

I have many friends. They provide comfort for me when times get their worst. I love them all.

Do they grow lots of apples in your hicktown?

Is there a college in your hicktown?

Is your hicktown a suburb or just a town out in the middle of nowhere?

Would you start with a classical, a folk, or an electric guitar?

No colleges, but we do have a nice high school and middle school.

It's just a town out in the middle of nowhere, but the closets big town would be Auburn.

And I would start with folk. I still love my Dylan.

114. Right now, in jazzy bandy, we're playing Sunny, Linus and Lucy,
St. James Infirmary, and Hipster Boogie.

In regular school band, we're playing... or, we were playing (We haven't been given new songs yet) Winter Holiday (A collection of some songs, like Walkin' In A Winter Wonderland, Frosty the Snowman, and Let It Snow), and my favorite, Away In The Manger. It opened with an alto sax solo. Being first (And only) alto sax, i got to play it!

Then, after our band concert, we had a solo done by... me! I played Blue Christmas on alto sax. Played the whole thing perfectly... but the end... I squeaked on the very last note.
