Good Wednesday Morning, Everybody!
:donut::hi:
Welcome to the second and final super early edition of the Captain Clintmax show! :bounce: Today is the last day I have to be at the store extra early before Christmas, so beginning tomorrow, it is back to my regularly scheduled time!

I hope all you Nighthawks have had a GREAT night! I slept well and feel good this morning, especially since Greekspeak is going to be here with me tomorrow. My whole attitude about this holiday has changed now since I don't have to be alone.

I was watching CNN & MSNBC yesterday when I got home (instead of cleaning this apartment like I should have been) and was glad to see how up in arms everyone is over this wiretapping mess Chimpyboy has gotten himself into! Both Dems and Repugs are calling for investigations into whether he broke the law. As we know, he did, and hopefully something MAJOR will come out of this and the idiot boy will be made to go away. I don't have much confidence in that...but we'll see.

I wrote emails to both my senators and my representative about the wiretapping thing. I have hopes that the sole democrat amongst them will actually do something about it.

3. very early good morning
as you I didn't do anything in my apt. I still have tonight and tomorrow night and Friday morning before I leave to get the place in order. I decided to take my dirty clothes with me and wash them at my grandma's place. Why do I have a car all for myself? Enough room to stuff it with things :)

When I worked in the mall and in the book department at Kmart people were beating down the doors to get in no matter how early we opened. It's sad really--peoples lives are so replete that they need to shop almost around the clock.

Since I was about 15 I'd guess (there's a much more relaxed attitude to it over here), this means 2 things - first I know my limits, and secondly it's never been a big thing to go and get drunk (which is actually a very boring thing i.m.o.).

80. I agree about getting drunk...
It happened to me once, and ONLY once. I woke up on the bathroom floor, naked and sick sick sick. I spent 3 hours after I woke up vomiting and then dry heaving. It was miserable. I haven't touched a drop of liquor since then. "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." as the saying goes.

97. That's why I'm strongly in favour of young drinking.
Odd though it may sound.

I'm convinced (and experience of southern European attitudes vs. British and American seems to bare this out) that if children start to get introduced to alcohol in small amounts at a fairly young age, then they'll grow up used to it and will be far less to go out and binge getting drunk. The idea that folk can't drink legally until 21 is (to my mind) just asking for trouble with youthful drunks.

57. Good morning, Clintmax!
:donut: :hi:  I seem to be missing you lately ... ya have to get up pretty early in the morning to catch the Captain Clintmax show!

I'm glad Greekspeak is coming home. Yay! :bounce: Spending holidays alone can be a drag.

Think positive. Let's hope the idiot and his whole entourage go away.

GODS, I have missed you! I'm glad to see you today! Yes, the recent past has been extra early only because I have to be to work so damned early. Back to regular schedule starting tomorrow thank all the gods! I hope the whole freakin' crew goes away, but I'm not holding my breath.

 Every morning, I get up and check your thread ... and you're gone. But I'm having a sleepless morning today and here you are! :bounce:

I'm glad your schedule will be back to normal tomorrow!

We're still sorting through stuff and getting the house ready. Of course, the hurricane damage is STILL there. We took all the trains down and patched up the walls. My husband had put tracks all around one of the rooms. It was pretty cool. Next house, they're going in the basement, though.

I LOVE those! I always had one when I was kid...but haven't had the room for one, but I surely would love to!

79. Sure do.
And we're not talking ordinary model trains. He collects scale models of the real thing. His favorite is Big Boy. There was one in Scranton, PA (probably is still there) that we visited. It's HUGE!

We didn't exactly have room for it, which is why it was mounted on the wall. And it was high, above everything, so that the doors could still open and we didn't lose any floor space. It was a very cool set-up, but hard to work on. It's sort of sad having it down.

But don't be jealous anymore ... they're down and packed away. The walls are fixed and you'd never know there were trains up there. I'll send you a new pic in about a year or so when they're back up in the new house.

So what's up with this early morning working stuff? Extended hours?

93. Oh, yes.
Extended hours, don'tcha know. I have to leave the house in about 30 minutes to go get the store ready to open. I'm expecting our district manager today also for a "surprise" visit, so that'll just make the day even more exciting. :puke:

and a happy winter solstice to you! I am so happy about your news that Greekspeak is coming home and will be with you for the holidays :bounce: That is freakin' wonderful.

I am also amazed at the latest from the "leader" of the "free" world. I am astounded by his statements and those of his defenders. Well, it's a little early for me to put on my GD hat.

Congratulations on your news and your last super-early work day! :loveya:
