1. i would go with "jesi"
since that would be the latin plural. you could also go with "christs" which is far less complicated

2. Jesus is a 4th declension noun in Latin

So Jesi is not it, according to the page the plural of Jesus is Jesus.

Christus is second declension though so its plural is Christi

24. Now that that's settled -- What's the possessive of Jesus?
Edited on Wed Dec-21-05 12:12 PM by Radio_Lady
Jesus' (belonging to Jesus)

Jesus's (that doesn't look right)

Jesuses (that doesn't, either)

I didn't study Latin and you guys impress me with your knowledge.

PS. This is really confusing because our last name ends in "S" and we've faced this "ownership" problem with a few lawyers while drawing up legal documents.

15. So it's the same as moose and moose
or sheep and sheep (one moose two moose, one sheep two sheep) rather than cat and cats. Jesii still sounds better, maybe because that's the form used by the Sub-Geniuses.

On edit: Oh, those involve a mouse not a moose.

Sheeze... this is about 80th on my list of things to do today!

My husband has declared that the DU is a timewaster. This is after hearing about some of the things that we discuss. "All hail the mighty King Al."

Let's not talk about the 50 or so hours he's put into setting up photo software.
But here's one of his beauties, taken out our front window after the brief snowfall this week.

27. I hates those meeses to pieces was
the signature line of Mr. Jinx. The meeses in question were Pixie and Dixie. Why do I remember these things from 40 years ago when I can't remember to go to the bank? :yoiks:

28. Or where you put your keys?
I think long-term memory remains OK, even if short-term memory is diminished.
The mini mental state exam starts with questions about the day and date, what state you're in, who the president is -- right now, not before.

Maybe it was the other way around; I can't remember!

Thanks for the correction.

6. Methinks this question will have to wait
for the Cheesy One.

Although, since the guy at lower left here...

...says "There is only one Redeemer," you might find yourself in an argument.

or God's. It's just words that end in "S."

Of course, there may be people who call Jesus other things, like the Prince of Peace.

Reason #10000001 why I like DU: there are others here who remember enough Latin to know of the 4th declension.
