3. Yikes! How far do you have to go? Walk? Bike? Car?
We had a transit strike here, but thank God the rails were still running, and Philadelphia is FAR less dependant on subway and bus (what sucks is the strike hit the poor folks who live in West & North Phila rather than the richer ones who live downtown or in the 'burbs)

The NYC strike affects everyone! Let us know if you get to work okay...

4. Woo! Made it!
Half walked, half got gouged by a cab driver to the tune of $25.

I live in northern Manhattan, and work way downtown, so it was a real trek.

My sister lives in Philly and didn't seem to affected by the transit strike, but I don't think she spends a lot of time on the SEPTA in any case! It really is true that everyone uses the MTA services here. The city is pretty unlivable without the subway, but at least NYers are banding together as we always do in tough circumstances.

5. New Yorkers are tough
An admirable quality unless they are standing behind me at the Phillies game, yelling for the goddamned Mets....

7. Oh god, this one just killed me for some reason
Hipster chick: It's not fair that the Jersey people still get a train. They should fix it so our train runs, not theirs!

Hahaha, stupid hipster chick! *raises Jersey fists in triumph::
