1. No, I prefer them, actually.

Ever since I saw a couple of female ob/gyn's with absolutely horrid bedside manners, I've not sought care from anyone but the male doctor I adore.

2. Both of my kids were delivered by men
but I see a female gyn now. I never had a problem because the doc was a man. At the point of delivery, your modesty or whatever - goes away, you won't care, it will be the last thing on your mind.

3. Right now my ob is a female
but I had male ob's in the past. It depends on the person. I felt/feel ok with both.

5. I have a male right now! I did have a woman before.
I don't care what they are. I just care if they are a good doctor and that is the truth!

6. Female, but it's immaterial to me
I always pick the closest decent physician. I won't go if it's too far.

8. I prefer women
Nothing personal but I like the idea that the person who's working on me knows how it feels.

9. A woman
The one time I had to see the male ob/gyn, it had horrible results. He basically told me I was imagining being in pain and wasted 8 months. All the while, I had a case of endrometriosis that grew for those 8 months. By the time he decided that something was there and should be done, the only way to fix the problem was with surgery. It's no fun to have your abdominal muscles cut and not be able to move on your own for weeks. Trust me.

Find a woman.

10. It shouldn't matter. Let the OBGYN's practice their love
with women.

11. See an actual, real-live doctor?!
Wow, that's an interesting concept. I don't think I've ever gone to the "gynecologist's" office and seen anyone other than an RN or a PA. Of course, I'm also one of those sinful women who just goes so that I can get my birth control scrip, so maybe you get better service if you're there for the OB part of the equation.

But after a GP gave me such a painful pelvic that I cried, I'll only see a woman unless I can help it.

13. My gyno care provider is a woman.
She's an NP if it matters. I started seeing her on the advice of a good friend and I love her to death. She listens really well and is the only care provider I've ever seen who gave me a scrip for the birth control I felt I needed without making me try the method she thought I should use first. She also was totally supportive of my use of NFP when I was doing that (with no trouble at all for over 4 years, then my life circumstances changed and I went to a different method.)

I've never seen a male, but some women I've had weren't gentle or nurturing at all! My midwife was a mean old bitch who couldn't be bothered to listen to my pregnancy complaints and gave the most painful internals I've ever had, and the pediatric NP I was sent to because my insurer wouln't let my (male) primary care doctor give me a pelvic when I was 17 made some sort of sexual comments that made me very uncomfortable.

16. My OB/GYN is a man.
He is also the best doctor of any kind I have ever had. He has a special knack for making each of his patients feel like the most important patient.

17. I rather have a man.
My first 2 were delivered by a man, and the day I went into labor he was on vacation and a woman was on call for him. I had a miserable old woman when I first had a gyn/ob and it sort of scarred me. I'd go to him if I ever had another kid - which is not a chance since hubby got fixed :)
