King Kong gripe: (******SPOILER ALERT**********)

This movie could EASILY have been stronger at 2-2&1/2 hours rather than the 3 plus hours it is.

I think 30 minutes or more could EASILY have been trimmed from the Skull Island portion.

--bug/leech attack completely eliminated (this didn't really contribute much IMHO

--fight between Kong and 3 T-Rex type dinos could have been WAY shorter, this sequence was impressive but overdone.

--bronto/brachiosaurus stampede was over done and not that great, the scene could have either been made short or eliminated entirely IMHO.

And am I the only one who was annoyed by the fact that King Kong, the biggest badass on Skull Island, had trouble with the flying bat things, but that the writer and heroine RODE one of the damn things down to SAFETY? ??? ??? ??? :wtf:

That is all. Having said that, I still enjoyed the movie very much and recommend it. I just think that Peter Jackson et al have hurt the film's cause needlessly by not editing more tightly... I think the 3 hour run time will hurt its box office, I hope not too badly...

That leech bit was crazy CGI though. When it ate that dude; that was cool.

The stampede bit. It looked like green screen on Who's Line is it Anyway. OK, not that bad, but pretty bad.

Those flying bats had some teeth, though.

I thought the planes were pretty bad. They looked like they weighed about 6 oz.
