I haven't gotten anything yet. The presents are still under the tree and the smells wafting from the kitchen are making me ridiculously hungry. But none of the siblings are here yet. Grr.

5. Food poisoning... :(
Kept me up almost all night, and while I'm now on the road to recovery, but don't feel like eating and feel pretty beat-up, so I called off from my Dad's Christmas thing... they'll have other guests and family, and we'll just do our thing in a day or two. Good thing about being athiests/agnostics at Christmas -- unlimited flexibility.

On the upside, I'm saving my strength for a model shoot later tonight that should be great...

38. Aww... that's no fun
I got that on Christmas once, when staying with the family of some friends in Stuttgart. The Dad of the family had made a giant bucket of potato salad with beets in it... pink potato salad. It sat out too long because the bucket wouldn't fit in the refrigerator, and I was so sick. The Mom of the family wouldn't stop with the food, and was one of those moms who has *got* to feed you constantly, so I spent Christmas weekend puking a wide variety of interesting and novel German Christmas foods into the sink of the guest room.

My mom pretty much bought me a new wardrobe of clothes, a beautiful new down comforter, a few books and a couple of other odds and ends. And I still have a bunch of stuff waiting for me back home in NJ.

Oh yeah I got an early Christmas present the other day. My mother and I were out shopping and she bought me 3 pairs of Doc Marten boots. Super on sale, I have enough boots to last me for the next 10 years!

Movie tickets (yeah, I know, what? I haven't seen a movie in months and so many to choose from!)

29. My turn
An electric blanket (now I can really keep the thermostat down at night). The cats will adore it. They get to sleep on it too!

A new down pillow, chocolate, a monopod for my cameras, slippersocks, a portable NOAA weather radio and a small portable fan from my mother to manage my hot flashes. (She's a kick!?)

My most treasured gift was running into people last night at church who said and did exactly the right thing. It's amazing how the right 2 or 3 words can change your perspective. I hope 2006 is as good as I hope it will be.

Next?
