Very funny. It was Jim Carrey's funniest work since Liar, Liar!

I give it two thumbs up. Go see it!

1. WHY is it....
that THREE of the huge movies this Christmas season have to be remakes??!

I enjoyed this movie in 1977 when George Segal and Jane Fonda did it. Why do they have to remake everything, thinking it will be funnier just because they put Carrey in it? Or Brad Pitt? Or George Clooney? Or whoever?

I'll reserve judgement until I can compare the two, but I'm beginning to think no one has imagination anymore.

2. I've never seen the '77 original so I don't have
anything to compare this new version to, But on it's own, the new version is ROTF funny!

3. But I do have to say, The Longest Yard redux was as good as the first
I haven't seen it either but loved the Segal/Fonda flick

4. And it had lots of Bush bashin'
my husband's favorite line was Alec Baldwin, doing his Dubya impression, expressing his "remorse" at the sad plight of his former employees after he ruined his corporation (to his own incredible benefit) and then quickly adding "Now, watch this shot!" The little scene was just like George W.'s infamous disconnect after being told of a bloody attack in the Mideast leaving several people dead. He just looked bored, nodded, mumbled something, and then said "Now watch this shot!" And resumed his golfing.
Also, a funny satire on Wal-Mart.
All the corporate crooks receive special thanks during the closing credits.
