Time to change the lights on the Palm Tree
We put up an (artificial) palm tree each christmas and decorate it with primarily christmas decorations and colors but after christmas the theme becomes nothing but mardi gras. Green, yellow and purple lights, and party relevent acoutrement; tropical plants, mardi gras beads and flamingos. It'll stay up till Mardi Gras - 28 February. Then all the catholics will go to Ash Wednesday Mass, get ashes on the foreheads and be perged off all their decadent and hedonistic sins of the past eight weeks. Ain't life grand.

2. On the shore of Mighty Lake Erie
On the lakeside of the Hideaway Bay Restaurant and nightclub there are three live palm trees.

Believe it or not.

Hey Bosshog. Thanks for the Foundation card. Are you in the log? I am.

3. Roger that Shipmate
and thank you very much for the Christmas Card. Its 61 degrees right now in South Mississippi 1542 hours and I'm still cold.

Few (non female) things more beautiful then a Palm Tree with lights on it.

4. Torrid 32 here
and descending.

Forties daytime rest of the week. Bilge pump is working overtime as the snow melts away.

5. Technically, the lights shouldn't change until Epiphany.
It's still Christmas. Epiphany begins January 6. :hi:

6. I always hated technicalities
The epiphany? That would be the 12th night? And being a cheesehead wouldn't you like to live 24 miles from Kiln, Mississippi? Favre on the Bayou? Technicalities be damned, the lights have been changed, let Mardi Gras rule until the ashes are spread!

7. Aw, hell.
Your in Mardi Gras country - I think the only time it isn't purple, gold, and green down there is during Lent.

Go ahead. I won't turn you in to the liturgical police. :)
