2. The coffee is pretty good
I have the Gevalia pods. The hot chocolate is great, according to my kids. They have Twinings Earl Grey tea that is really good. Surprisingly, the latte is pretty good, too.

5. did you register it?
When you do you get 2 boxes of coffee from Braun. We got one last month and chucked our Melita. Remember to use the cleaning disc every 3 months.

11. The paper work is on the table ready to go in the mail
So what do you like? I have the Gevalia coffee, hot chocolate, latte, and earl grey tea. Do you have the monthly shipment deal?

I am pretty OCD about a lot of things and cleaning is one of them.

12. we order from a website that has a better selection
I forget the name. My wife placed the order. When we bought the machine it was on sale. Regular price was $219.99 marked down to $169.99 plus it had 2 boxes of coffee, 1 box of tea and 1 box of cocoa. Right now we have Gevalia Signature Blend,Suchard Hot Chocolate,Gevalia Signature Crema and the tea. At this point pretty much everybody is selling the T-disks for $9 a box. I guess it'll take a while for the next new system to bring those prices down.

14. That's about what they are here
If you find out that website, let me know; I'd appreciate it. My wife got a wicked good deal on it. It was on sale at Marshall Fields for 139.99 and she had a coupon for an additional 15% off anything at the store. It came with the coffe you mentioned, too. HOw is the Crema? Don't know that I am much of a fan of Crema, but, hey, it's coffee, right? I am hoping that the grocery stores will carry the T-disks by the middle of the year. It's not like Maxwell House is opposed to mass production. They have about 3 other types of disks right now.

6. It's cute
But I already got what I wanted last year:

Café Nabucco Combo

Our Café Nabucco Combo features: A all-in-one
machine that can brew coffee and espresso
simultaneously. Also prepares cappuccino,
latte or hot chocolate. The swivel jet frothier
makes frothy milk for cappuccino, latte and
other beverages. The Vario system and Accuflavor
selector dials allow you to choose the strength
of espresso and coffee just the way you like it.
Removable tank for convenient filling and easy
cleaning. Drip interrupt, warming plate and 5-10
cup function lets you have a cup before the pot
is done brewing. 5-10 cup option adjusts the
heating element to prevent overheating of smaller
quantities

7. Wonderful :)
Treat yourself and buy a few pounds of Cuban coffee - it makes Jamaican Blue Mountain taste like dog food in comparison.

8. Nice.
I saw an infomercial about that thing a few weeks ago. Looks pretty cool.

So, does it work as well as it's supposed to?

13. I received a nice burr grinder
I just use a stove-top percolator. If your grind is off, your coffee will suck, so it was really a fine art before getting the right grin with my chinsy $15 grinder.

Senseo machine :).

Also, I just found a place today that has the pods and the little thingies for your Tassimo machine at decent prices and great variety:

http://www.coffeewhiz.com

I placed an order for some stuff from them today. I'll see what their service is like shortly :P

16. Thanks for the link
I'll check it out.

Here's the rub about why we got the Tassimo instead of the Senseo (which would have been fine by me). My wife and son went shopping for me. The Senseo only makes coffee. The Tassimo makes hot chocolate (and purportedly Chai in the near future). Deal closed on the hot chocolate.

18. I understand completely :)
I like different blends of coffee and flavored coffees, and for the pods (and, for that matter, the K-cup or whatever it's called), there are a LOT of different blends available, from Kona to Jamaican and from Cinnamon to Hazelnut, you can get all the good stuff, depending on mood.

I went with the Senseo because it was so damn cheap (I got it for $49 at Costco :).

I might consider switching to Tassimo later, once there's more variety of blends and such. I do like the idea of having the cream, etc. in pouches of their own. . . that seems pretty dang cool :)
