2. Ah - the picture put it all together, finally.
I remember him in Awakenings, and some sci-fi movie - was it Time Bandits?

3. He was in Buckaroo Banzai, Tomorrow Never Dies, and so much more.
What a diverse credit list:

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001704/

The Happy Hooker!

American Pop!

X-Files!

Family Guy!

It's interesting, but guys like him, and other character actors like Jeffrey Tambour, etc, just plug along for decades, being familiar faces, and making millions in residuals while the Callista Flockharts come and go.

I'll miss his creepy face. Take care, Mr Vargas!

8. Yes, character actors...
are 'special'. Most of them that I've worked with are consumate professionals. Their love for acting is unrelated to 'being a star'. I did a TV pilot about a circus with Vincent years ago.(It didn't sell). Lovely guy. RIP.

4. He used to be on "Taxi".
He played Latka's priest. He's the one who married Latka and Simka.

Strange looking dude, but a good actor.

11. she was in my favorite Cheers episode
she played Coach's daughter - he just thought she was beautiful and she knew she wasn't but in the end he said, "You look like your mother and she grew more beautiful every day of her life...." *SNIFF*

7. One of my favorites
The "character actor" as the film industry refers to these actors, are so important to great films. I will miss Mr. Schiavelli's work and wish the best to his family.

I remember seeing Schiavelli in Cold Feet, a quirky heist movie starring Keith Carradine, Sally Kirkland, and Tom Waits.
