New Mormon boys
the new Mormon evangelists aren't as cute as the last batch we had. They asked if they could do anything for me. I should have asked them to take down the Christmas tree and vacuum the pine needles up after it :D

I can't handle liking Mormon evangelists. I don't like any other evangelists. Why do I like Mormon ones? I assume it's because they send the cute young men. They must know to do that.

3. When did they get cute?
They don't send the good-looking ones to San Francisco, I can tell you that for free. Wait a sec, I think I understand why now ;-)

5.  Ask them about the Mountain Meadow massacre. They´ll leave you alone.

--snip
Beneath the sands of the once-beautiful land lie the bones of more than 120 men, women and children slain at Mountain Meadows in 1857, their mortal remains left to the caprices of nature and their killers protected by Utah's peculiar theocracy. Only one participant was ever punished for the butchery, although more than 50 men took part.

The killers were mostly Mormons; they were respectable members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, but even to this day, the church, while recognizing that Mormons took part in the massacre, disputes claims that the murders were part of an organized plot directed by the church's leaders.

Guilt, however, is a nebulous concept, and even if the upper echelons of the Saints did not specifically order the murders, they still bear some responsibility. At the time, the Mormons were on a war-footing, and leaders like Brigham Young had instilled a culture of vengeance, fear and anger in their people. Just as military leaders are responsible for the acts of their subordinates, Young and the rest of the Mormon leaders could not simply wash their hands of the blood that was spilled at Mountain Meadows.

6. the last ones I got were pretty cute
one of them obviously enjoyed talking to me about books and various theologies, but the other seemed kind of irritated that he had to waste time talking to me, considering I made it clear I wouldn't convert, I was just interested in theology.

7. They are likable.
Unlike most other fundamentalists, they seem to place as many restrictions on themselves as they do on others, and I've seen so much sheer kindness from the Mormons I've known. Gotta admire that. I'll never agree with them on some religious matters, but there is a surprising amount of integrity in their congregation.

'Course, I've never been asked to listen to them evangelize.

8. That's not good at all.
I've certainly got a soft spot for them as well.

They don't seem to go house-to-house here, but they do stand in the shopping area of the local town. I've walked past them very slowly to see if they start to "evangelise" to me a few times, if they ask I always give them a nice long chat.

9. I'm a sucker for Mormons
(NO double entendre intended, you weirdos!) They are usually polite, nice, and easy to get along with.

Of course, being cute young men helps a lot :)

Khash.

10. I hear ya
I've befriended many of the young Mormon missionaries in the past. I even went to their church for awhile when I was a teenager. Although I rejected their beliefs and didn't join, I have still found myself befriending them over and over again even though they and I both knew I had NO intention of joining.

They are just nice people. And not ALL of them are Republicans...

12. it's because they look so corruptible...
yum, fresh innocence for the devouring...

other evangelists aren't as fun. they doth protest too much. and we all know what it means when someone protests too much... they've already ate from the tree of knowledge. what's the fun playing around with a spastic psychotic; one moment they are insatiable playthings, the next they are frenzied zealots. too much energy to just keep up with their vascillations. give me young, nubile, innocence instead anyday; it's fun to watch the fall from grace.
