Oh, my, this bean soup I made is delicious!
And warming me up all over inside! Just enough of a bracer to go do the trash.

I made it from the leftover ham from christmas, with some sauteed onions, navy beans, and water. I was going to use chicken stock, but didn't get around to it, and it ended up tasting awesome anyway. I tossed in a couple of pork hocks as well. Then added some tomatoes and diced peppers.

I simmered the ham, water, ham bones and pork hocks for about 6 hours before adding the tomatoes a few minutes ago.

YUMMY!!

1. Ooh that sounds good.
I've had soup for lunch nearly every day since it's been cold. Canned, though. :(

3. Smart adding the tomatoes at the finish,
otherwise the acid keeps the beans from getting tender. Sounds yummy.

6. Oh, it has lemon juice as well
also put in at the end.

Though I cheated on the beans - I bought a large jar of already softened beans because I didn't feel like wasting time soaking them. :7

9. Sounds like a good soup!
I've been thinking about boiling the hambone from Christmas for some bean soup soon.
