I have a resume question for any of you.
In a couple weeks I will be going back to school to get my certificate in CAD design. Should I put this on my resume, even though it should be another year before I complete the required courses? How should I word it? Thanks! :hi:

1. put in cover letter
explaining how the job fits in with your plans to continue your education.

Leave it out of your resume until you get the certificate.

6. No, they're not.
They're what hones your resume, puts a job-specific spin on it.

3. Or if you have a section where you list certifications
you could put something like this:

Computer Aided Design, CAD certification: Expected Dec. 2006

14. yeah
I do it like this:

Bachelor of Music, Arkansas Tech University, Russellville, AR - May 2004
Master of Music Education (in progress), Boston University, Boston, MA - December 2006

So you might do:

Computer-Aided Design Certification (in progress), State Technical College, Anywhere, US - December 2006

8. Education
List it as education, something like this...

January 2006-present Iron City Technical College
Coursework to fulfill Certificate in CAD Design requirements, projected graduation December 2006.

10. Hey does PGH still have burgers at "Silky's"? Not sure if I'm remembering
the name right... Just a good association from when I spent a few months there during my training...

According to citysearch, it's still going.

I live in Cleveland now, so it's a bit of a long haul. :)

12. Hm.. we'll have to start a thread on Cleveland oriented pop culture
sometime. American Splendor, Drew Carey, Pretenders, Major League... I see possibilities...

13. And "A Christmas Story," of course.
Major portions of the film were made here, even though it's set in Hammond, IN.
