DU NYC Gathering: February 4th, 2006. Would anyone show up?
Edited on Sat Dec-31-05 12:05 AM by LynneSin
Ok, here's the scoop. There is this amazing new band that I really want to see in concert - Skeleton Key. JimmyJazz and I have been talking about going to see them in concert and although they are playing in Philadelphia, we were thinking of instead doing the concert in NYC at the Knitting Factory.

The concert is Sunday evening and probably not the best location for a DU gathering (although anyone is welcome to join us). But I figured we'd come up Saturday and we could do something on Saturday afternoon like at Rocky Sullivans (the place where we had the anti-RNC convention party) or that other location where liontamer had a party at this year (it was a cool location).

I know Soleft said she would help organize it but the only probably we had was the holidays and the fact that absolutely no inexpensive hotel space was available.

So who is interested?

3. I'd love to, but it's a tad far
I'm only allowed so many cross-country jaunts.

I'll try to target that weekend, but won't know for another week or two.

10. I want to see if we can get a room at the Chelsea Hotel
I've always wanted to stay there but you have to call them for reservations. Wherever we stay it won't be the Milf Plaza. My head hurt for a weak from those cheapass pillows on the bead!

13. I'll call later this morning.
After my other house mate wakes up. If I start talking on the phone now Frodo will be hollering Hello. It won't make for a very good beginning to a snow day.

14. Well if it's too pricy don't worry about it
The range is $175-$750. If we could get a room with 2 beds for $175 (and that doesn't include tax) then I would do it. But above that we're looking elsewhere.

And check cancelation policy since obviously a freak snowstorm would keep us home

15. Then it isn't even worth a call. It's over budget if this is correct.

18. Yikes - ok, might be out of our range
I mean we're talking $200/person for the 2 nights which I could probably swing but don't want to force either of you 2 to do the same.
