He's a rescue that I got about a year ago and has some really needy behavior. Yesterday I read this is a trait with Boxers, especially adopted Boxers and the best thing to do is not to acknowledge the behavior. If I give in and give him the attention, he sees the behavior being rewarded. If I yell or command him to stop, he still sees the behavior as a reward because I'm still giving him attention.

Anyway, he will not stop whining and barking. He commands me to go in and out all the time, day and night just for the hell of it. I can't leave the door open and installing a doggie door is not an option.

He's driving me effin' nuts today!

1. OMG, I'm seriously going to snap.
Must be a little what it's like to leave a crying baby.

2. My girl Angel won't leave me alone right now either.

She is jumping up on my arm demanding to be scratched and petted. My brother in law was here a while back and made the mistake of petting her. She would not leave him alone after that. He asked "whats this dogs problem? I told him she would let him know when he was finished!

3. Maybe you could get him a doggie friend to annoy/play with

...instead of you all the time?

I had to do that with my kitty, and it worked out quite well.
