Poll question: Snow coming...
Local schools are already closing in anticipation of the snow storm. It's hasn't started snowing yet in my neck of the woods - weather stations are saying it will start anywhere from 6am-7am

predictions vary from 2-5, 3-6, 5-8 inches of snow with/without ice/sleet/freezing rain

storm alert time frame is from 7am - 9pm tonight

so what do I do about going to work? I live atop a mountain, and the roads to work are all hills. It's about a 1/2 hour commute in good weather... (last year during one storm it took me close to 3 hours to get home)

there's nothing on my desk in a "red alert" stage that absolutely must be done today

for my daughter's school to cancel. The cancel if the temps drop below 20. :hi:

***and they cancelled while I was typing this post! :hi: My son is going to be very, very angry. He is 7 and they hardly ever call school in our small neighborhood district.

5. Your son is angry because they cancelled school?
What is he - some kind of alien/human hybrid? :hi:

7. They cancelled school for my daughter...but not my son.
She goes to a private high school where they cancel classes quite a bit...if there is even a hint of snow. He goes to a small, public neighborhood elementary, where it would have to be Armageddon for them to cancel. :hi:

3. i'm waiting for the local weather to come on the tube
weather website for our area hasn't been updated since last evening..

but all the surrounding counties have school closings...

decision would have been easier if it had started snowing a few hours ago... lol

4. We're expecting 10 inches of snow.
With the forecast you've got. Stay home. There is no way to safely drive safely on icy roads.

11. I believe I do.
Just trying to do what's best for everyone including myself.
I need a break. I know I've earned that. All this aromatherapy_healer_stuff takes a lot out of you at times.
My trip this summer may be extend by a bit. I'm driving & camping, not triking. No TV. No drama.

12. staying home
local weather says 3" by late morning, change over to ice, then another 3" of snow late afternoon into early evening...

all the schools around are canceled.

snowing here, roads are coated and a neighbor down the road, just skidded sideways down the road....

considering the route I have to take, hills, and backroads -- better safe than in a ditch

as usual - my partner is angsting about whether or not she should go into work. She has a shorter commute, major roads but still some big hills to go up and down on. we go through this every snow storm....

she'll end up going in, then calling me every couple of hours to get a road report I'll tell her roads are bad, she'll angst another couple of hours and call again.
