Any 'My Name Is Earl' fans here?

It's funny and the all the characters are endearing, especially Joy and 'Crab Man.'

I also like the fact that the characters are not lawyers/doctors/teenagers/wealthy or otherwise middle-class.

I love that it's a 'little guy' show. :)

plus it reminds me of Raising Arizona.

the PRIME FLAGSHIP position of Thursday night comedy on NBC.

The episode about burning down the barn at the camp was really really dark but really funny.

The one about the guy he stole gas from had a great exchange in it

"Are you the guy who watches me do my laundry?" (watches her panties drying)

"One of them"

and the episode on the college campus was classic. Earl gets stung by the bee and then shows up at the kids door

they didn't have to tell you what they kid was waiting to kick in.

BTW in that episode the frat house has a deadhead trippy poster on a door that says "Eat Me" obviously an homage to Animal House. Earl is called "Magnum PI" by one of the kids. Classic.

Randy: I never thought of drinking beer upside down before.
Earl: It tastes the same.
Randy: Yeah but it goes to your brain before it gets to your livers. I always thought a fraternity was just a bunch of old guys riding little bikes and parades but this is way cooler than that. Can I stay? Can I please stay?

"Look I like drinking and I love riding tricycles but if someone hits me with a paddle I’m gonna knock them on their ass."

Catalina: You're going to a farm?
Earl: Shh, I'm not telling Randy, he's afraid of chickens... and the Pope's big hat, but mainly because he thinks there's a chicken under it.

CUT TO: Randy eating, while walking around the ranch. He sees a chicken, stops, drops his food and runs. He climbs a fence.

Randy: What are you gonna do now you stupid bird? I’m behind a fence. Stupid chicken.

(Randy turns around and there is an ostrich behind him.)

Randy (quietly): I don’t want to punch you in the nose big chicken, I’m just gonna lay down and die now. Ok, here I am dying.

(Randy lies on the ground. And puts his legs and hands in the air.)

Do you know many episodes have their been so far? It started over here about 2 months ago (the last episode was Joy's wedding) and it's just getting better and better.

Picking out wedding dresses:
Earl: "Yeah, but it’s got a stain on it."
Joy: "That’s where I'm going to bedazzle my initials."

"As soon as I woke up I realized that sleeping with Joy three days before her wedding was a huge mistake."

Here, it airs at 10pm every Friday, immediately after The IT Crowd, a brilliant new British comedy that you poor Yanks will no doubt get a low-quality retread of in about 10 months. It's The Office meets Father Ted.

I want to start the Earl Hickey Society.

The best damned show running. Great idea, great writing, great pacing, great one-liners and most importantly - GREAT CHARACTERS.

My kid even watches it and it's his favorite show.

"Earl" and "Scrubs" have the best soundtracks on TV.

entire Olympics, and then. you get Steve Carrell in the Office

Mr. Z., however, hates Earl and never fails to show his contempt for our lowbrow tastes.

I am equally disgusted by his appreciation of Sam Peckinpah movies, so I guess we're even. :eyes:

I also loved that Randy can drink four beers and then perfectly fit in with corporate America.

Please tell me you watch Father Ted -- it's hard to find anyone who's a fan of both "Father Ted" AND American Idol that gets the comparison

Along with 'Scrubs' and 'Boston Legal' it's the best thing about commercial tee vee.

There actually IS some good writing on commercial T.V.

I enjoy the UK "The Office", too.
