20. Clooney????
Is there anything, anything at all, that qualifies him for political office? I like his political opinions, but voting for him? Um, no, no, no.

4. I actually think I could vote for that, crazy as it is...
Clooney could be the face--the PR man, the voice, the image. Kucinich is the brains behind The Man--and you gotta love Dennis.

Think about it--they could have a cool celebrity couple name, like "Clucinich" or "Kuniney".

Or maybe just, Gennis.

I dunno... but I'd consider voting for them if they had anything to say. :)

7. I was actually saying last night that I hope Clooney runs for office
someday. Not in 2008. And certainly not for President as his first time around.

He is quite intelligent, well spoken, and I hate to say it, but, "telegenic" (you know what I mean). I think he'd make a great Senate candidate when he's done with acting.

18. "Ask not, what your president can do for you..."
"Ask what you can do to your president!"

(Slightly paraphrased from Clone High.)

And welcome to DU! :hi:

22. No actors for president
He can run for a lower seat first, but I sense he isn't interested in political office.

I do like him though and find him very intelligent.

And I love his statement - Proud to be out of touch.

Ebert was asked something similar about the Oscars and he said most Americans are out of touch with good movies. I think a lot of liberals are getting sick of being told how we don't care for "American values".

Fuck that. And fuck those people. We shouldn't have those ass holes on the right defend "values" any longer.

25. Yes.
Realistically, yes he should. Or some other elective office first. I do think ultimately he'll seek elective office. But he needs to win statewide office first before running for President. IMO.
