I just got my caucus ON!
It was great! The turnout was good and I signed up to be an election judge. I loves me some Minnesota Dems!

3. Yeah, that is true of our caucus
but it was a great turnout for a non presidential year.

5. I do ever so enjoy it!
It's good to be in a room where you KNOW you can go off about Republicans and everybody's cool with it.

10. I am going to resolve, next time, that a certain woman
(whom I actually really like) at our caucus, not be allowed to challenge EVERY SINGLE RESOLUTION that comes up, unless she has a legitimate issue, not just "isn't this already covered under blahblahblah?" and that people who are NOT paying attention, and ask questions that have ALREADY been repeatedly addressed, be beaten about the head (gently- they ARE Dems) with switches.

11. Holy shit, our caucus was very harmonious
No challenges, and very little discussion of the resolutions. Every one of our resolutions passed!

14. We had a very turbulent resolution involving home day care providers
and unionizing... It involved a vocal minority of people not understanding that "NO! We HAVEN'T voted on it yet...remember...they reworded it, and NOW we're voting on it." (then it got challenged and had to be reworded AGAIN...repeat scenario...reword...repeat again...
It was fun, though.

16. A little Roberts Rules of Order goes a long way
I skipped my caucus this year, mainly because I'm pretty new to the neighborhood and just don't have time. That and my candidate (Patty Wetterling) dropped out of the Senate race, and I don't really have a pick for the governors this year.

Plus I live in a solid blue district in St. Paul (80% went Kerry in '04) so I know we're in good hands.

15. My dear Lara......
Congratulations on your becoming an election judge!

We have caucuses here in California too...but ours function differently.

The only reason I know about them, is because this year I am going to participate too!

Ours are used to endorse Dem Candidates before the June primary.

I'm so excited!

I am new to grass-roots politics, and it looks to be very interesting...
