7. Things are good.
Thanks to primary season (now almost over, thankfully) and a new job, I've been really busy. My personal life has improved a lot as well. Life is good.

How are things with you?

9. Very busy - even more than last year
(which I didn't think was possible); wish I could be more involved in primary season - as there is a real chance for some change in a number of Hoosier districts; No change in the personal life - mostly because I am so busy - but I do appreciate the little things in life (the little joys) which I didn't always afford myself to do earlier.

Glad to hear about the new job - still in Tx? Or a change of scenary? Also glad to hear there is more going on in the personal life front - good for you.. hopefully sometime in the next year or so I will be able to tell you the same (that mine has picked up.) For now I will be envious for your good fortune. :D

15. I'm still in TX. Luckily I found a good gig here locally.
If I want to relocate, I can though. I work for a large company.

When you're ready for that personal life, it'll happen...sometimes you're not sure when you're ready, but life will let you know. :)

It was pretty chilly here, for us, anyhow...

Cloudy with some sunshine.....No rain here today....

I didn't actually go out, so I don't know how the surf was today...

Not windy today either.....

Sorry I can't give you a better description!

Staying in hampers me, but I've been a bit under the weather....

24. so what constitutes "chilly"?
Knowing (having lived in various regions) that all things are relative... wondering what "chilly" was? It felt downright WARM at 68 today - but that is after weeks of 25-40 degrees.

I would agree that in the high 60's would constitute warm, esp. after all the cold you've endured...

35. Who'd have guessed
that it would have been warmer here ... guess I hold a memory of 70s and sunny in February (when I studied outside in grad school in no. cal) that I compare my unpleasant current weather experiences - good to be called in check that perhaps my "memory" is a tad bit rosy.

now there is a sideline conversation... saw the linked thread (above) and meant to comment on this thread (but of course was reading the other one - so it is now inadvertantly kicked back up) - per the braveness of the young lady's actions for raising awareness/comment = esp given how chilly it is in Michigan this part of the year. Didn't read the thread (just the opening post) - to see the side conversation that you refer to - does indeed strike me as a silly nonsequitor.

of "chicken" in a swimming pool than we should be okay :D

As to stray cats... Apparently the old lady in the house next door was cited for having 64 or more cats roaming around her house. Worse yet, the citation came after her husband had died, and she had been living with a friend due to an illness... so all those cats didn't have anyone tending to them. Oddly enough, I have never seen any of them outside of the house.

34. Very odd
for me. Have lived here a bit over a year. Have met the lady a couple of times - and learned she was no longer living at the house - and feared losing it (it is in pretty bad shape.) But didn't know anything about the cats - but several different neighbors have told me about it (I work more than 12 hrs a day during the week so I miss things like the health dept coming through). It is very sad. The cats have been (or supposed to have been) reloacted; sadly that suggests that many have not survived. In one window on the third floor has appeared to be a "sleeping cat" sillohette - which has been there for a month or so... too far away to see clearly - but it makes me very sad.

44. Glad you are back
have to admit I have had a haitus from here for awhile as well - very limited time so spent on LBN and greatest just to check in on issues. Odd but have found GD a safer haven at some times. All that said, given what harsh twists life has thrown at you - that your reaction to the odd dynamics hitting as draining, is not suprising - it has affected some of us without the same extreme challenges thrown in your personal life. Glad that you are feelig better.

Me? I have been exhaustingly busy - and having the health downs that accompany such periods of life (catching each and every cold and virus going around -but having little time to take off to tend to them - so just walking around draggy...) Aside from that bitchin' and moanin'... in the bigger picture, things are going well.

56. Sorry you have had the bad luck with the bugs & viruses.
I hope you are drinking plenty of water and taking plenty of vitamins. I know I am, that is the one thing I am blessed with, good physical health. I've stayed off the flus and crude, my Katrina cough isn't that bad, when I get tired, it get's annoying, but that happens to alot of us here.

And I know what you mean about GD being a safe haven. Over the last month, I've posted more in there than I have here. I'm just sorta gun shy if you will.

I'm learning to use my new friend, the "ignore" feature and to walk away when it get's too much. And, my mother's words are sounding in my head quite often "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" :p

But I have missed the good folks like you, that post here and I do so love to laugh, so I can't stay away.

Take good care of yourself, please.

57. Hi salin!
Good to see you! I wish I could be more involved in Florida's elections this year, but I live too far away and I have very little enthusiasm for the people running in my district anyway. I'm devoting my time now to trying to turn the two wild things I call daughters into slightly more respectable creatures. I'm very involved in my community, in a women's organization that does all sorts of good stuff for people, and I'm a block representative for the Residential Life Committee on campus. My husband has a Pakistani assistant who I am trying to teach the importance of Feminism, tolerance, and that it isn't always necessary to be so cynical about everything. I'm also taking a cooking class from a wonderful Finnish chef, which is a lot of fun.

RIght at this moment I'm avoiding doing a little bit of work... but I can alwyas do it later.
