...hell of a shocker that the $2 million soldier turns out to be a snitch!
And he HANGS himself!!

Despite their cordial business dealings, you know Tony is going to wind up nose-to=nose with Philly Leotardo! I hate that guy!

Tony, of course, will survive. Jun goes to a nursing home.
that was terribly sad to see June cowering in the closet. Confused, but he knew he'd done wrong!

30. Well then
Tony bought Carmela a new Porsche.

She is building a new house with her dad but the building inspector is giving her fits.

A new character who is a hit man inherited money and wants to retire to Florida but Tony won't let him. Meanwhile, he is talking to the FBI. Tony said he couldn't move, the guys wife was pissed and he hung himself in his garage.

Johnny Sack is in jail awaiting trial. A couple of his goons beat up Hesh and his son in law. Hesh asked Tony to tell Johnny's thugs to lay off.

Junior is senile. He shot Tony.

I will post more if I remember anything else.

37. Also...
...the hit man Gene's teenage son is on heroin. His wife had wanted to move to get the kid away from the junk, but now that was impossible. As Gene saw it, the only way to save his kid, get away from "the life" and the feds, let his wife have the money was to off himself.

Janice and Bobby have a new baby.

Meadow and her boyfriend Finn are living together and still engaged.

A.J. (with longer hair) is in college but is still kind of jerking around in school.

Johnny Sac is having a hard time keeping a handle on everything from in the joint. His wife Jennie is starting to liquidate assets to pay bills and what not. Christopher has his eyes on Johnny's Maseratti.

Christopher is also being kind of pissy toward everything. He has definitely soured more. He made some pointed statement about not being afraid of Philly Letardo and it wouldn't be surprising if they have a run-in before long. Chris is still in "the program."

An old federal agent that used to follow Tony around has resurfaced having just returned from Pakistan in connection with his new job working on terrorism. Other agents seem to be closing in on the Soprano circle and are getting more info.

Artie Bucco is getting back together with his wife, but it seems as if his restaurant has become moribund.

Silvio has put on pounds.

One of the captains (the one Finn spied having a "Brokeback" moment on the construction site early one morning) has lost a lot of weight and is bugging everybody with his new-found health kick.

Tony and Carmela are getting along much better and have adopted a new sushi place as "their place." And, yeah, it's funny seeing Tony's new yen for sushi.

60. And T bought Carmela a new Porche (SUV?) which she has been showing around
And Ginny Sac. may have showed some slight sign of resentment, since she is hard up for money. Carm showed up to take her on a "spa date" but I don't know if she went.

There were a lot of fast cut/scene changes in this episode.

Pussy Malanga was the guy that Junior wanted to whack at Vesuvio in the first season (first episode, actually). Dude has been dead for 6 years.

36. I never have
Usually when everybody is kissing ass about some show, I never ever watch it. That has to do with anything. Films. Books. I tend to flee from things that the masses all love. I guess I shouldn't say "never" sometimes I get around to watching or reading etc, but not until years after. Plus, I had a friend who had the most godawful taste in everything and he loved The Sopranos. His taste was so bad that anything he liked I just automatically avoided it like the plague. It was a reflex. :)

how he was yapping about how '''unfortunate''' it would be if Tony got sick/cancer/heart attack.

I smell regime change, Spitafore has lost 100 lbs and Tony seems to have gained half of that.

Don't count on the whole fellating a security guard thing not coming up (no pun!) to bite him in the ass though, could get REAL ugly, hate to see another Meadow b.f. killed.

45. He's the one character who can't get killed off...
...at least not till the whole show itself is coming to an end. Besides, they've shown previews of him and a new character played by Juliana Margulies, and she wasn't even in this episode. She's a real estate agent, so maybe Tony meets her as a result of selling Junior's house at some point down the line.

This episode was a good season opener--but no gabbagool!!! Maybe 911 will bring some to revive him with.

Edited on Mon Mar-13-06 02:58 PM by stopbush
Notice that Carm said Adriana had been gone "over a year." It could be that they'll now show the whole
year leading up to Tony getting shot as flashback. That would make Gene's hanging himself even more tragic
as Tony got shot (killed?) the same night.

BTW - I still wonder if Adriana is alive. They never actually showed her getting hit by the bullets,
and remember the scene with Chris-tuh-fuh and Sil where Sil says he did Chris a big favor
(Chris was in the passenger side of a car and Sil handed him an envelpe of cash?)
Was Sil's big favor bumping off Adriana or faking the killing for Chris...who loved her?

58. Here's what I think will happen to Tony
If no one replies to a 9/11 call usually someone is dispatched so they'll get Tony in time to save him. HOwever, I think they'll plop Tony into a coma for a couple of episodes, just long enough for everyone to fight over who is going to take over the family. Then when Tony starts coming around, nobody is going to want him back because he'll probably still be in poor shape and he'll be perceived as being 'weak' because of his condition.

Ok, now about the guy who hung himself - he was a forewarning of what is to come. Because all the bullshit fighting going on over who is going to run the family will convince Tony & Carmella to cut their loses and get out of the family. But as we saw in the first episode, it's not like you can up and retire from the family. People may not want Tony running the family but they also don't want him retiring to Florida.

...of life after Tony. Vito for one, and Carmela for another (did you see her reaction when Angie showed Carmela the Corvette--Angie, all on her own since Pussy got bumped off, supporting herself and even buying luxuries without having to rely on a mafia husband controlling her life. It made Carmela take notice.)
