Gah! Computer problems!

I'm posting on the number 2 computer while computer number 1 is reformatting its hard drive.

Meh.

About a year ago, I needed a computer but didn't have a lot of money, so I built it on the cheap with parts that I normally wouldn't even consider using. Not surprisingly, the motherboard went belly up after about a year of use, and it is now that I find out the manufacturer (EliteGroup) doesn't have a guarantee policy. *smack head*

So I've replaced the motherboard today. Unfortunately, money is still tight, so I ended up buying another board from the same manufactuer (Fry's Electronics has a really good deal on them). This time I spent a little more on one of those in-store guarantee policies.

Now of course, it looks like the motherboard I bought may be bad and I'll have to go back to the store for a return. Right now I'm doing another wipe and reinstall just to make sure I didn't do something wrong with the first install, but I have a sinking feeling I'll still have those same reproducible hard restarts. I hope I don't have to return the thing. Motherboards are the biggest pain in the @$#%& to swap out.

Ah well. Back installing crap…
